Solstice By Valhalla Released 22-1-1996
-------------------- ------------------
Machine requirements :
----------------------
486, 486DX2+ recommended
4Mb of ram (may require clean boot)
Fairly fast VGA video card recommended
Unfortunately the demo does not run under Windows 95, this is a problem with
the music player, when I get a working update of the music player, I will
release the updated .EXE to work under win95.
Problems can occur with ET4000 W32 cards, if you have troubles, try some
of the command line switches below.
Command line switches :
-----------------------
format : SOLSTICE <switch1> <switch2>
fixxm - This will use alternative mode setting code, so if you find the demo
crashes, then try this switch (type SOLSTICE fixxm)
noxm - If you have tried the above switch, and the demo still crashes, try
this, it will remove the mode setting code, so effects such as the
hi-colour ones and hi-res piccies will not be shown. You will get
a black screen where the effect should be, but the demo should
continue as normal after.
fixrgb - will fix the 'banding' which may appear in the hi-color RGB effects,
this will slow down the frame rate, but should give a perfect
picture. (type SOLSTICE fixrgb)
If you have other troubles with a Soundblaster Card, try reducing the mixing
rate, and setting it in Mono 8 Bit mode.
