  24. INTRODUCTION:

  27.         Summer Encounter is the danish demoscene party of 1996.
  28.  
  29.     Summer Encounter is a purely non-commercial party, organized for
  30.     the gathering of all demoscene freaks, primarily from Denmark and
  31.     the surrounding countries.
  32.  
  33.     The prices might not be incredible high, but atleast no company
  34.     is making any profit from it either. We wont try to hide that
  35.     this is not a huge and incredible party, but we are certain
  36.     that we are going to have more fun than any other party! :)
  37.  
  38.     Summer Encounter '96 will be held in a sportshall in the middle
  39.     of Jutland, Denmark - just outside Randers.
  40.

  50. ENTRANCE:

  53.     We have tried to keep the entrance fee as low as possible, but we
  54.     have a very tight budget. We'll have to charge you 100 DKr if you
  55.     pay in advance (at least 10 days) and 130 DKr at the entrance.
  56.     Daily Visitors are welcome and they will have to pay 30 DKr/day
  57.     and 100 DKr in deposit, which will be returned when they leave.
  58.  
  59.     One-Day visitors are not allowed to participate in the main
  60.     competitions. One-Day visitors will not get a seat-reservation.
  61.  
  62.     You'll get aprox. 1200 mm x 1000 mm of table space and all the
  63.     floor space you want.
  64.  
  65.     The RAVE party costs 10 Dkr at the entrance, to cover the rent
  66.     for the place and equipment.

  76.  ■  The place holds aprox. 300-350 people, and we have tables and chairs
  77.     for everyone.

  79.  ■  5 major competitions, 3 fast competitions, many surprise compos as
  80.     Disk Throwing and Mouse Throwing. Lots of outdoor competitions as
  81.     Team Soccer and Monitor Cross-Country.

  83.  ■  Girls have free entrance, transvestites pays double! :)

  85.  ■  If the weather permits it, we will have a huge BAR-B-Q for everyone.
  86.     You will be able to buy your meat'n'food in the nearby supermarket.

  88.  ■  Huge Ethernet party-network, 100% access to all, with a huge and
  89.     fast Novell Server and TCP/IP support.

  91.  ■  We hired a professional electrician, but he was electricuted.
  92.     I sure hope he finished the job. (He did!)

  94.  ■  LaserDisc & Video-room showing cult movies 24 hours a day.
  95.     The hottest in action, thrillers, porno and whatever pleases you.

  97.  ■  All info during the party will be placed on the party server and
  98.     displayed on the bigscreen outside the competitions.

  100.  ■  2500 x 2000 mm high quality big screen, for movies and competitions.
  101.     If possible, we will get an even bigger screen.
  102.  
  103.  ■  Great Hi-Fi equipment for the hall, so we're sure you can hear the
  104.     demos and music.
  105.  
  106.  ■  Cafeteria at the party place, open as often as possible. He will be
  107.     selling real food, not just junk-food. You are allowed to bring our
  108.     own food and Coke.
  109.  
  110.  ■  Should you need a bath we have aprox. 25 showers and separate
  111.     rooms for both the boys and the girls. (why?)
  112.  
  113.  ■  RAVE-PARTY in a club less than 500 meters from the party place.
  114.     They will charge you 10 DKr, and alcohol can be served at the place.
  115.     Local RAVE freaks will be joining the party too. (girls!)

  120. RULES AT THE PARTY PLACE:

  123.  ■  Alcohol and drugs are forbidden. No one needs that crap anyway :)

  125.  ■  Naturally, you will have to pay for everything you break or damage.

  127.  ■  If you fuck something up, we'll fuck you and your equipment up
  128.     too! So be careful, the force is with us, ha haaaa >:-).

  130.  ■  We will not accept anybody selling food, drinks, disks or
  131.     other things, except if you have arranged it with us.

  133.  ■  Please use the black plastic bags around the party place, so
  134.     we don't have to spend a week of cleaning.

  136.  ■  We take no responsibility for illegal swapping of software, VCR
  137.     or other bad bad things, We know that you would never do anything
  138.     illegal, anyway....

  140.  ■  No racist signs or acting, but dumping on Amiga and other arcade
  141.     machines is ok :)

  143.  ■  Please don't bring fireworks or other kinds of stupid stuff

  149. NETWORK INFORMATION:

  152.     The party network server will consist of a Pentium/90 with at least
  153.     64MB ram and about 4-6 GB harddisk space. The server will be like a
  154.     harddisk to you and we take no responsibility for what you might put
  155.     there (Non-PD, fish-porn and so on:).

  157.     All you need is an Ethernet-card with a BNC connection and a length
  158.     of BNC cable. We will pull cables from the server to all of the tables.
  159.  
  160.     You will get the software needed when you arrive at the party.
  161.     Our net-software will by default be installed for the L: drive.

  205.  ■  All contributions must be delivered at the entrance before deadlines.

  210.  ■  You can only hand in one contribution per member of your group in
  211.     each competition.

  213.  ■  If too many contributions are delivered for a competition, a
  214.     competent jury will make a selection (competent, HA!)

  216.  ■  We copy and spread all contributions, shown or not, over the party
  217.     network just after the voting deadline. If you do not include your
  218.     own FILE_ID.DIZ, we will insert our own standard DIZ.
  219.  
  220.  ■  You can deliver a bugfixed version for spreading, after the deadline,
  221.     as long as it's delivered before the voting deadline. The version you
  222.     delivered before the deadline, will be the one shown on the big screen.
  223.     So make sure you contribute with (almost) finished demos.

  225.  ■  The contribution disks will not be returned, this is of course
  226.     only a problem for those poor souls who do not have net access.
