The smiley dictature.
Something irritates me: the over-use of smiley.Check the messages in
diskmags, half of them finish with a stupid ;-)
So they're supposed to say: 'hey, i'm joking' or 'don't take this seriously'
Are people in the scene become so serious that we need to tell them when they
should laugh ?? (that make me think of prepared laughing in sitcoms)
Smiley used to mean: 'i've finished talking...', but it changed but the
internet boom...
I don't use them !!! ok... i already did but i hardly use them anymore.
and the result is: some stupid guys take everything i say in the first degree
and are sometime shocked of it. That's sometime funny because you can see
how lame they are by answering things you wouldn't have heard either.
One of the big advantage of the non-use of smileys is that can write
stupid things, and later claim you were joking.
So the message is: Don't ALWAYS use them, or you're going to kill irony !
... remdy/dentifrice
Ps: if you really need to write the stupid sentence 'no offense' each time
your words can be taken like a non-scene-politicaly-correct stuff...
(that bore me even more)...uhm... better blow a smiley indeed.
