═══────────────═══
Welcome to the HYPNOSIS information file version 1.3. This textfile has
been written to inform people about HYPNOSIS, our productions, and gives
a brief history of the group.
If you are interested in us making a demo or game for you, don't hesitate
to contact us. Please read the information in chapter 3 of this file.
This file will be updated as things change. Please make sure that you
always have an updated version of this file, in order to prevent any
mail from getting lost, and to avoid misunderstanding.

HYP-SITE.NFO The HYPNOSIS distribution site file
DISTSITE.HYP The HYPNOSIS application file
3: Demos and games for commercial purposes
═══──────────────────────────────────────═══
If you find our intros and demos interesting and would like us to make
something for commercial purposes, do not hesitate to contact us.
When contacting us, please include a short explanation of the kind of
production you had in mind. It would help us with the evaluation of
the size of the project.
Would you be so kind as to include the following information:
- What kinds of effects would you be interested in.
- Should there be any colorful logos, pictures etc.
- If the demo should have sound, which sound cards
would you like it to support, and what type of
music should be played.
- How big should the demo be in kilobytes and how
long should the demo be in minutes approximately.
- Where will the demo be used, and what will it be
used for.
- How soon would you like the demo to be finished.
- Approximately how much would you be willing to
pay for the demo.
All our productions are realtime calculations and not animations.
This means that the speed of the demo depends a lot on the speed
of the processor, of the video card, and of the sound card.
You should also bear in mind that we do not make demos for Microsoft
Windows, or any other GUI operating system. All our productions are
meant for the IBM PC and compatibles and should be running under
MS-DOS or PC-DOS.
You can find our contact information in chapter 8 of this file.
4: The distribution and use of our demos
═══────────────────────────────────────═══
All HYPNOSIS productions, except those created for commercial purposes,

strictly prohibited.
All HYPNOSIS productions cannot be used for commercial purposes without
written permission of HYPNOSIS. If you are a Public Domain, ShareWare or
FreeWare distributor, please contact us before adding our products to
your collection.

7: A brief history of HYPNOSIS
═══──────────────────────────═══
1989
- In a time when Future Brain Inc, Control Software and Trsi were
ruling the swapping/cracking scene, a group called Resist was
born. The group was founded by Progress, Arachnatron and Cyborg.
- After getting bored with the cracking/swapping scene Resist became
a demo group. We were one of the first back then making VGA intros
with smooth scrollers.
1990
- TCS (True Coders Society) was founded by Vivian and Tranquilizer.
The group made a small intro with panning blocks, scrollers, etc.
to announce the new born group.
- Resist made a Christmas demo containing a sinus scroll, and the
first ever real snow flakes.
1991
- At the end of this year, Resist and TCS joined and became ExTaCY.
- The group was mainly occupied with the board scene and we tried
to make sure that all the new 'warez' could be downloaded at our
distribution sites. It was in that period that we learnt about
real demos and started to make new contacts in the demo scene.
1992
- ExTaCY and The Untouchables joined and became ExTaCY/Tu. The group
released a small demo to announce the merge between the groups and
released several small BBS intros for The Drool Zone, Mystery, and
made a Christmas vector demo with a sine-plasma-scroll, lots of
vectors and fireworks.
1993
- Some members left ExTaCY/Tu after a disagreement on future policies
of the group, and we decided to change the name back to ExTaCY.
- ExTaCY decided to stop trading, gave up the boards and started to
work on a demo under a new name, HYPNOSIS.
- HYPNOSIS worked on a demo called 'A Year of Agony'. We had decided
to release it at the Party 93. It really had been a Year of Agony
for us with many disappointments and setbacks but we continued to
work on 'A Year of Agony'. Unfortunately, just two weeks before the
Party 93, Prime, Excalibur, Acute and Sourcerer decided to leave
the group to start their own group called Inertia. Now we were stuck
without a player and could not release the demo with any sound.
1994
- After releasing 'A Year of Agony' we decided to work on a music
system for our future productions. For now, it only plays through
the Gravis UltraSound, but we hope to add support for other cards
soon.
- We heard that some people in the board scene were organizing a
PC only party and we decided to make a party invitation intro
for it.
- In december HYPNOSIS will ofcourse be travelling to the PARTY 94.
Because of this, we have organised a bustrip and have released a
bustrip invitation intro.
- We released the source code for the Pentagram Intro in december.
Hope you enjoy it...
1995 A look at the future
- We hope to add SoundBlaster and SoundBlaster Pro support to the new
player this year and we will be doing a few intro's, perhaps even a
demo. Also, there might be a little co-operation between us and a
well known dutch group, so keep those eyes peeled...
- We hope to finish two or three games this year and these will be our
first commercial projects. If anyone wants to publish these games,
please contact us.
