  1. Frequently asked questions about the ALH Uploader Program:         (940620)

  5. 1)  Once I receive the coded disks, is it my responsibility to
  6. place announcements in various places, i.e., BBS's, Internet, etc
  7. to market the books?
  8.  
  9. Yes

  12. 2) If the answer to the above question is "yes", and there are a
  13. number of people doing this, how do we keep from stepping all
  14. over each other?
  15.  
  16. Yes, there are a number of people doing the program...but, there
  17. are about 100,000 BBSes minimum in existence, and at least 5-10
  18. new systems a day, also the Internet is growing at 20% each
  19. month...Do not worry, there is enough out there for everybody.
  20. I have only heard of one case that an uploader logged onto a
  21. smaller system and it was already there.   It may be on the
  22. bigger ones, but there are a lot of BIG systems, and if you get
  23. on them, then you can have thousands of viewers looking at your
  24. messages & files.  Don't even let "cross-over" bother you, it is
  25. not a big enough problem, and it probably won't be a problem for
  26. quite a while.

  29. 3) Where are the best places to upload this information and what
  30. techniques are used to attract people?  Do you have a recommended
  31. format?

  33. The best places to put this is everywhere.  Some "small" systems
  34. have turned in a LOT of registrations, and some big ones too.
  35. Everywhere is a good word here...everywhere....:-)

  38. 4) Is the information available in Mac format?
  39.  
  40. Not in Mac format specifically, but we can send it to you over a
  41. BBS or the Internet, and you can download it - then immediately
  42. start uploading it to the systems of your choice.

  45. 5) How are you going to know when a person registers your
  46. software, that it was uploaded by me in the place they got it?
  47.  
  48. In order for us to identify you as the uploader, we will issue
  49. you a 4 digit code and place it into the order form...but I can
  50. hear you asking, what if they don't use the orderform...well, we
  51. have got that covered too...In addition to placing it on the
  52. orderform, we include it in our address!   That way, there is no
  53. way there could be an error!

  56. 6) How am I going to know how many registrations occur by my
  57. uploads?
  58.  
  59. We will send you a check each time someone registers the
  60. program...I know that this doesn't give you the answer you
  61. want...I think the best way to answer your question is to relate
  62. a true story about an uploader...this uploader had the same
  63. question, but what he did was have a friend of his register on of
  64. the cheap programs, I think it was like 8 bucks to register...and
  65. we sent him his money...then, one day I received a letter
  66. thanking me for my honesty and that he was going to start
  67. "uploading like crazy" (apparently he did not upload anything
  68. until he got his check for his friend)...but since then, this guy
  69. has really been uploading - as has he has turned into one of the
  70. very best uploaders in my whole entire program!

  73. 7) How often is a payment cycle on the commission checks?
  74.  
  75. As soon as the registration check clears, we pay the
  76. uploader...no delays here.   The faster I give you money, the
  77. happier you will become.

  80. 8) How much is a commission on a registration?
  81.  
  82. Our "patriot collection" pays $5.00 per registration.   We are
  83. always adding new programs, and the commissions vary...sometimes
  84. the authors pay well, and sometimes they don't...sometimes they
  85. want every uploader working their program, and sometimes they
  86. don't.

  89. 9) What are the names (eMail address) of the other people that
  90. seem to be doing rather well at this?

  92. I do not have permission to release anyone's names...but again, I
  93. haven't asked anyone...:-)

  96. 10) Where are you physically located?

  98. We are located in Beverly Hills, California Republic in North
  99. America.

  102. 11) Did you write this software and/or how did you get it?
  103.  
  104. We enter deals with shareware authors, and some of the
  105. programs...namely, the patriot files, are mine.

  108. 12) What is your main interest in all of this?
  109.  
  110. The main reason the program got started was a chance to help
  111. spread "truth" throughout cyberspace about what is happening in
  112. the country and to help the patriot pay their phone bill while
  113. spreading the word...Then, the (uploader's) program had such a
  114. tremendous response, I decided to make it into a business.   With
  115. that, we started contacting (and being contacted by) shareware
  116. authors who wanted to know if I would add their program to our
  117. service...and here we are today.

  120. 13) I can get by with the service that I have on getting the job
  121. done but, do I really need to get other capabilities like (Internet's)
  122. FTP and Telnet?   Getting it is not the issue, what I want to know is -
  123. is it absolutely needed?

  125. FTP & Telnet, or even Internet access is NOT required.  What is
  126. required is a modem and a list of bulletin boards to call.   But
  127. yes, if you have Telnet, FTP or Internet access ...all the more
  128. places to upload to!

  131. 14) Just who exactly am I supposed to upload this stuff to once I
  132. get it?  Associated Shareware type place or any BBS/Internet
  133. BBS/Anon-FTP site on the face of the planet? What regions do
  134. others cover?

  136. Upload it everywhere.   We will put in a copy of a few current
  137. BBSlists in with the program, just in case you don't have one
  138. that is handy.   For example, on our "patriot files" we will send
  139. you the patriot BBSlist from Excelstor, this is the largest and
  140. best list of patriot & freedom oriented boards.

  143. 15) How long have you been in business?
  144.  
  145. I have been involved in computers for well over 15 years, but the
  146. uploading company is about a year old - and it is really taking
  147. off!   :-)

  150. 16) Do you have a prospectus on your company/organization I can
  151. have?

  153. We do not release that data other than to investors.   This is a
  154. private common-law contractual organization.

  157. 17) For an average days work, how much is an average days pay?
  158. Not to be set as a day of pay but some sort of time frame per
  159. money equivalent.

  161. We have no averages, there are some who are "going to town" and
  162. some who are "falling asleep"...basically, it's up to you.

  165. 18) Do others typically d/l everything that you have and u/l all
  166. of it to ever where? What is the practiced style?

  168. Basically, it appears that most people order it all and upload it
  169. all...but that is just an average...it is entirely up to you.
