  5.                   This BBS  distributes software  for the sole purpose of
  6.       testing it prior to purchase. You have 24 hours to try the software
  7.       and determine  that it is worth  purchasing, then you must  destroy
  8.       it.    This   BBS   feels  that it is  unfair  to  computer  user's
  9.       that they are unable to  evaluate software to see if it suits their
  10.       needs.   Many  users have purchased products by the way the program
  11.       looks on the box and have been extremely  disappointed with it  and
  12.       therefore  have   wasted   their   hard  earned  money.  Nobody  in
  13.       their right  mind would  purchase a  car  without  test  driving it
  14.       first,  or  for   that  matter  purchase   clothes  without  trying
  15.       them  on, so  how  can software  vendors   expect users to  buy one
  16.       of their  products without first testing it.  They will send copies
  17.       of their  software to large corporations to test but seem to forget
  18.       there are  also other users in the market willing to purchase their
  19.       product  if  it  meets  their  needs.   This is where   this    BBS
  20.       comes in.  This program is for  evaluation only,   if you like this
  21.       product  then  go  to  your  local computer  store and purchase it,
  22.       otherwise  please  do NOT  use  this  product.  On  the  otherside,
  23.       this  board    also  feels  it  is unfair to the  software  vendors
  24.       for you  to  use  their product  without  owning  the rights to it.
  25.       There are many  advantages to  purchasing  the  product  including:

  27.       1)  Technical Support: Software vendors set  up  technical  support
  28.                              lines  for  the  purpose  of  helping  their
  29.                              registered users get the  most  out  of  the
  30.                              product and help with any bug concerns, etc.
  31.                              It is to your advantage to be  able  to  use
  32.                              this.

  34.       2)  Manuals:           Manuals are  a  very  important  part  of  a
  35.                              software package.  No book  or text file can
  36.                              replace the  original  manuals,  which  come
  37.                              with the product. This enables  the  user to
  38.                              get the most out of the package,  especially
  39.                              with the complex programs of today.
  40.  
  41.       3)  Upgrades:          With  buying  the  original program, you are
  42.                              entitled  to  low priced or free upgrades to
  43.                              new versions and bug fixes.

  45.       4)  Legality:          To use program without  owning a  registered
  46.                              copy is illegal.

  48.       5)  Control Of The     When  companies  who  create  good  products
  49.           Industry:          are  supported,  it  reinforces the need for
  50.                              good products and helps the company continue
  51.                              to create more  quality  products.   On  the
  52.                              other hand, companies who create substandard
  53.                              products have  two  options; either  improve
  54.                              their products or get out of the industry.

  56.       Until  companies come up with a better  way  of  allowing users  to
  57.       test their products  before purchasing,  this BBS    will  continue
  58.       to make available products  for  your  testing. Companies  recently
  59.       have started to head in this direction and you now can return  some
  60.       products  to  the  company if  you  are  not  completely  satisfied
  61.       (Norton  and a few others) but this does not remedy  the  situation
  62.       as  the money  takes  a  long time to be returned and  is a lot  of
  63.       hassle, trying the software first is still the best solution.

  65.              In summary, if you decide to use a product, you must buy it!
