Question: When I print with my laser printer all the printing comes out in
an extremely small point size.
Answer: Before you print for the first time with a laser printer, be sure
to select a font and point size from the font menu. When DDP is
installed defaults are set up for the font and point size. If your
system or printer does not have this font the results are
unpredictable.
Question: I have shell printing turned on and I drop a Microsoft Word for
Windows document on DDP. Nothing happens.
Answer: Microsoft Word for Windows does not support shell printing.
Question: I have a file that have everything lined up in nice columns. When
I print the file with Drag and Drop Printing, the columns do not
line up.
Answer: Check what font your are using. There are two types of fonts that
Microsoft Windows supports. The first type is a monospaced font.
Each character in a monospaced is the same width. Most printers
default to a monospaced font. The second type of font is a
proportional font. Different characters have differnet widths in a
proportional font. For example a 'M' takes more room to print than an
'I'. Most TrueType fonts are proportional. If you lined up the
columns in your file with a monospaced font, the will not print
correctly with a proportional font.
Question: I can see the Drag and Drop Printing icon on my screen, but when I
switch to another program I can no longer see the Icon.
Answer: On the Drag and Drop Printing menu select 'Stay on top'. This will
cause the icon to always be visable. The icon will 'poke through'
anything that is covering it.
