  1. WELCOME TO THE ANIMAZING SCREEN SAVER COLLECTION !
  2. --------------------------------------------------

  4. To use any Animazing Screen Saver Module, you will require :
  5.  
  6.     Minimum 386 PC Compatible with 2 Mb RAM
  7.     MS Windows 3.1 or higher
  8.     VBRUN300.DLL
  9.  
  10. To Install this module, copy all the files you have unzipped into 
  11. your WINDOWS directory. If you are unsure where this directory is, 
  12. go looking for other files that end in ".SCR".
  13.  
  14. Each module comprises :
  15.  
  16.     an EXE file - this is the control panel for this particular
  17.     module, allowing you to customize it, test it, and optionally 
  18.     install it as your default Windows screen saver.
  19.  
  20.     an SCR file - this is the program Windows calls when it wants
  21.     to screen save. The sole purpose of the SCR file is to 'kick
  22.     off' the EXE file in screen saver mode.
  23.  
  24. Some modules have other files associated with them; for instance,
  25. 'Tags'R'Us' has a text file (TAGSRUS.TXT) which contains a list of
  26. grafitti. These files should also go in your Windows directory.
  27.  
  28. Once you have moved the files to your Windows directory, you will 
  29. probably want to create a program group and an item for each module.
  30. Refer to your Windows documentation / help file for information on
  31. how to do this.

  34. HOW TO TELL WINDOWS YOU WANT TO USE AN ANIMAZING MODULE AS YOUR SAVER
  35.  
  36. Each module is fully functional, with the sole exception that if you 
  37. are unregistered, you can  *** NOT *** configure the module as a screen 
  38. saver. You can customize it and test it out to your heart's content, but
  39. the 'Install as Screen Saver' button will only take you to the
  40. registration screen.
  41.  
  42. Registration currently costs $25 (for CompuServe members), ú25 for
  43. everyone else. If you register, you will receive a personalised ID code 
  44. which will enable the 'Install as Screen Saver' button on each module. 
  45. A single one time registration entitles you to use ANY/ALL of the Animazing 
  46. modules as they become available. There are already a number of modules 
  47. shipping, including EXTERMINATED, TAGS'R'US, OLDE FOULMOUTH, RIBBIT and 
  48. FIRES!. Your $25 is potentially giving you access to an unlimited number 
  49. of wild savers!

  51. Pressing the 'Install As Screen Saver' button will (for registered 
  52. users) open a simple dialog box allowing you to set the time out
  53. value (in minutes) or cancel the operation. Proceeding will make small
  54. changes to your WIN.INI and SYSTEM.INI files to tell Windows that you
  55. wish to see the Animazing module when the system screen saves. NOTE :-
  56. before modifying your INI files, they are first backed up to
  57. 'AMBWIN.BAK' and 'AMBSYS.BAK'.

  60. REGISTRATION
  61.  
  62. The easiest way to register is to GO SWREG on Compuserve. The 
  63. registration ID of the Animazing Screen Saver Collection is 3397. 
  64. You will usually receive your personal ID code by e-mail within one 
  65. working day. Alternatively, contact ANIMAZING on (UK) 071 792 4061, 
  66. fax to (UK) 071 792 1518, e-mail to DEVTEAM@ANIMATE.DEMON.CO.UK on the
  67. Internet, or leave a message on Compuserve to user 100413,3204.

  70. New modules appear first on CompuServe, followed by good Shareware
  71. houses, Magazine cover disks and selected sites on the Internet.

  74. THE ANIMAZING RANDOMIZER
  75.  
  76. This is a simple utility which allows you to tell Windows which
  77. Animazing modules you like. Windows will then choose one of these
  78. preferred modules at random whenever it is time to screen save. 
  79. Obviously, this utility is only of use to registered users.

  82. TO SHARE OR NOT TO SHARE
  83.  
  84. The Animazing modules are shareware; you may distribute them as and
  85. how you see fit (although you may not make a charge for them). Your
  86. personalised ID code may NOT be distributed under ANY circumstances.

  89. FUTURE MODULES

  98. As these graphical savers are pretty heavy on system resources, it is
  99. a good idea to download a few and make sure that your PC configuration 
  100. can deal with them. Our recommended minimum system is at least a
  101. 386DX with 4 Mb RAM (really the bare minimum needed to run Windows 3.1
  102. effectively). As an example, ExTerminated, being a very graphical
  103. program, requires almost 30% of your Windows GDI Resources. If you 
  104. have less than this free, the program will refuse to run. If this happens,
  105. try closing down one or more applications to free up resources, and
  106. try again.      ENJOY!

  109. LICENSE TERMS (LEGAL STUFF)

  111. You may not reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the software.

  114. LIMITED WARRANTY
  115.  
  116. The software comprising 'Animazing Screen Saver Collection' and all related
  117. documentation are provided 'AS IS'. Animazing disclaims all other warranties, 
  118. either express or implied, including (but not limited to) implied warranties
  119. of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, with respect to the
  120. software and the accompanying documentation.

  122. In no event shall Animazing or its suppliers accept liability for any damages
  123. whatsoever (including damages for loss of business profits, business 
  124. interruption, loss of information, or other pecuniary loss) arising out of 
  125. the use of or inability to use the software.

  127. Whilst Animazing have taken every precaution to ensure that the software
  128. and accompanying documentation are free from defects, the Company's entire
  129. liability and your exclusive remedy shall be replacement of the software 
  130. that does not meet this limited warranty if such is returned to the Company 
  131. with a copy of your receipt. This limited warranty is void if failure of 
  132. the software has resulted from accident, deliberate mis-use or malicious 
  133. activity by a third party.
