- View Modes Help Information
-
- MandelVroom uses a custom Intuition
- screen to display your projects. You
- can use the View Modes item to
- configure the kind of screen you
- want used to display your project.
-
- There are three sub-items that you
- can use to configure your screen:
- HIRES, INTERLACE and HALFBRITE.
-
- HIRES and INTERLACE affect the
- horizontal and verticle resolutions
- of your screen. If there is a check
- mark to the left of the HIRES
- subitem, then your screen has 640
- pixels horizontally, otherwise it
- will have 320 horizontal pixels.
-
- In 320 pixel mode, you can have 32
- colors. In 640 pixel mode, you can
- only have 16 colors.
-
- If there is a check mark to the left
- of the INTERLACE, your screen will
- have 400 pixels vertically. If
- INTERLACE is not checked, then your
- screen is 200 pixels tall.
-
- Below is a chart summarizing the
- resolution and maximimun number of
- colors available to you using
- HIRES and INTERLACE.
-
- \ HIRES
- \ not |
- INTERLACE \ checked | checked
- ----------+---------+--------
- not | 320x200 | 640x200
- checked | 32 | 16
- ----------+---------+--------
- | 320x400 | 640x400
- checked | 32 | 16
-
- If you happen to have a PAL machine,
- verticle resolutions are 256 or 512.
-
- The last View Mode is called
- HALFBRITE. HALFBRITE and HIRES are
- mutually exclusive. In HALFBRITE
- mode you have 64 colors, where the
- last 32 colors have their Red, Green
- and Blue values are half the values
- of the first 32 colors.
-
- If you choose the colors correctly,
- you can have added usefull added
- hues in your picture.
-
- One thing to note is that each
- project has it's own View Modes. If
- the current project has a HIRES-
- INTERLACE screen, and you make
- another project current, by
- pressing it's "C" gadget, and it's
- View Modes differ from the previous
- current project's View Modes, a new
- screen is opened to match the new
- current project's View Modes.
