  1. View Modes Help Information

  3. MandelVroom uses a custom Intuition
  4. screen to display your projects. You
  5. can use the View Modes item to
  6. configure the kind of screen you
  7. want used to display your project.
  8.  
  9. There are three sub-items that you
  10. can use to configure your screen:
  11. HIRES, INTERLACE and HALFBRITE.
  12.  
  13. HIRES and INTERLACE affect the
  14. horizontal and verticle resolutions
  15. of your screen.  If there is a check
  16. mark to the left of the HIRES
  17. subitem, then your screen has 640
  18. pixels horizontally, otherwise it
  19. will have 320 horizontal pixels.
  20.  
  21. In 320 pixel mode, you can have 32
  22. colors.  In 640 pixel mode, you can
  23. only have 16 colors.

  25. If there is a check mark to the left
  26. of the INTERLACE, your screen will
  27. have 400 pixels vertically.  If
  28. INTERLACE is not checked, then your
  29. screen is 200 pixels tall.

  31. Below is a chart summarizing the
  32. resolution and maximimun number of
  33. colors available to you using
  34. HIRES and INTERLACE.

  46. If you happen to have a PAL machine,
  47. verticle resolutions are 256 or 512.

  49. The last View Mode is called
  50. HALFBRITE.  HALFBRITE and HIRES are
  51. mutually exclusive.  In HALFBRITE
  52. mode you have 64 colors, where the
  53. last 32 colors have their Red, Green
  54. and Blue values are half the values
  55. of the first 32 colors.

  57. If you choose the colors correctly,
  58. you can have added usefull added
  59. hues in your picture.

  61. One thing to note is that each
  62. project has it's own View Modes. If
  63. the current project has a HIRES-
  64. INTERLACE screen, and you make
  65. another project current, by
  66. pressing it's "C" gadget, and it's
  67. View Modes differ from the previous
  68. current project's View Modes, a new
  69. screen is opened to match the new
  70. current project's View Modes.
