This was my first attempt
at something trip-hopish,
but it kinda turned into a
Dust 2 Dust rockish type
of thing. (well, I had
that song in the back of
my mind as I started to
get into it) Since I
don't actually HAVE any
trip-hop to study, I had
to go with the bits I
heard on the air. Ah
well.... still, it's kinda
catchy. I know it's really
short and kinda ends
before it even gets going.
If you think it should be
longer, let me know and
I'll work on it a bit
more. I just have the
feeling that people will
get sick of listening to a
bassline and a piano the
whole song. :) If not,
that's cool with me. I
could probably do melodies
like this all day. In
fact, I just did. :)
This is also to show that
I can do stuff other than
techno. :) In fact, you
might even be hearing
borderline demomuzak from
me soon. PhEaR iT.
The song started mainly by
fooling around with these
really good drumkit
samples that I found and
making really simple
beats. Then I decided to
try my hand at something
trip-hopish. I made
something, let it sit on
my HD, and then came back
to it one day and decided
to make something of it.
Also this past week was
the first time in about 5
weeks where I actually
felt normal (I was very
suddenly dumped from the
best relationship of my
life (so far). It's hard
to have a relationship
start falling apart and
there is nothing you can
do about it. Anyway..),
so I took advantage of the
situation and decided to
track. I have the worst
time trying to write
interesting basslines and
usually end up leaving
them out entirely, so this
gave me some good
practice.
Greets to (in no
particular order of
importance, and if you're
not here, it's just
because I couldn't pull
your name out of my head
at the moment): That guy,
you know, what's his name,
that Fin guy, and everyone
in #trax.
