Welcome to Amiga Voice Recognition.
This is version 5.2 of Voice Command Line Interface (VCLI) which will
execute CLI commands, ARexx commands, or ARexx scripts by voice command.
VCLI allows you to launch multiple applications or control any program with
an ARexx capability entirely by spoken voice command. VCLI is fully
multitasking and will run in the background, continuously listening for
your voice command. Improvements over earlier versions include the
capability to load alternate vocabulary files by spoken voice command, a
choice of Amiga hardware timers to reduce interference with other programs,
and immunity of the display to changes in system fonts. VCLI requires
either the Perfect Sound 3, Sound Master (Sound Magic), or a Generic audio
digitizer. AmigaDOS 2.04 is required. Copy voice.library (version 6.4)
to libs: before running VCLI version 5.2. Note that it is VERY IMPORTANT
that if you have been using earlier versions of voice.library, that you
REBOOT YOUR AMIGA after installing voice.library version 6.4. Otherwise,
the older version of voice.library will remain in memory, and VCLI52 will
not work correctly.
Note for GVP DSS 8 users. You can use DSS 8 with VCLI in the Generic
digitizer mode. However, since GVP does not release technical information
regarding the DSS 8, I have not been able to provide software gain
adjustment. The process to use is as follows. First connect your DSS 8
digitizer and run the "DSS" program supplied by GVP with your digitizer.
Open the Sampler Control Panel and select Input parameters to be used
(I suggest left channel, sampler gain 8, and microphone input with filter).
Then select "Monitor" to activate the DSS 8 digitizer with the input
parameters you have selected.
Without disturbing the digitizer, exit the "DSS" program and run VCLI.
As long as you do not choose another digitizer, or load a vocabulary file
that was recorded using another digitizer, VCLI will operate correctly
with the DSS 8 digitzer. Note that if you have used another digitizer
previously, you may have to delete the "SaveFile.name" file before running
VCLI, since the presence of this file causes VCLI to automatically load
the last vocabulary file you have recorded.
I will be most happy to assist anyone attempting to use voice.library in
their own programs. I can be reached on-line as:
