AppISizer Doc
version 0.20 01-Dec-92
⌐ GΘrard Cornu
AppISizer is ⌐1992 GΘrard Cornu, but freely redistributable. When re-
distributing don't forget to include this unmodified doc file. And
don't charge more than the cost of an AmigaLib disk from Fred FISH.
This program cannot be used for commercial purposes, or included on
magazine's cover disks, apart from 'Amiga DP' (french magazine dedicated
exclusively to Amiga PD), without the written permission of the author.
Peter Miles (see end of file*) is obviously granted permission to
include it in any ICPUG Amiga library disk ;-).
Fred Fish is obviously allowed to include it in its unique
AmigaLibDisk library.
Thierry Colin ("Amiga DP", see above!) is authorised to include it
in the french PD collection "DPAT" (Domaine Public Amiga Toulouse).
WARNING:
~~~~~~~~
AppISizer doesn't work with KS 1.3 or below.
A quick word about AppISizer and links. Personally I don't use links,
not yet, I didn't get time to look at them! So AppISizer has not been
tested with soft or hard links. But don't hesitate to give me any
information about them and AppISizer's behaviour.
Intro:
~~~~~~
AppISizer is the 'Workbenchised' version of my ol'little Sizer utility.
Not only is it Workbenchised, but as soon as it is launched it transforms
itself into an 'AppIcon', what a miracle! No... easy, thanks to C= Amiga
software people, not forgetting the hardware guys!
I almost forgot to tell you something very important, AppISizer MUST
be pronounced 'appy sizer!!
Requirement:
~~~~~~~~~~~~
'Bit more serious now! AppISizer needs at least KickStart 37.x to run,
and has been developed and tested with KS 37.175. It should work with
higher versions as well but hasn't been tested, don't hesitate to drop me
a line in case of trouble, my address is in the box near the end of this
doc file.
Starting AppISizer:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It can be started either by entering its name in a Shell, double-
clicking on its icon, or by dropping AppISiszer in your WBStartup drawer
(no need for the 'DONOTWAIT' tool-type) using the WBStartup way will make
AppISizer available as soon as your system is booted.
Removing AppISizer:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Very easy, just double-click on AppISizer's appicon then click on
'Remove AppISizer'.
Quick description:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
AppISizer puts an 'AppIcon' on your Workbench. If you need more info on
'AppIcons' have a look in the RKRM Libraries 3rd edition page 359+ (ISBN 0-
201-56774-1). Once you drop an icon on it, this object will be 'sized'
and a window will open to give you the results.
You can drop several icons at once, using multi-selection.
See the doc for Sizer, the shell version, for a detailed explanation
of the results.
