NAME
CallInfo
SYNOPSIS
CallInfo [?] [-lcnwdt] [logfile [ratefile]]
DESCRIPTION
CallInfo is a tool for use with NComm V1.8 or later, made by Torkel
Lodberg. It uses two files as input, NComm.log and CallInfo.rate.
NComm.log is the logfile put together by NComm. CallInfo.rate is a
file you may edit with an editor and it must contain the different
callrates and other important information. A sample file is included
in this package, it shouldn't be too difficult to understand.
If CallInfo is started with one or more filenames not specified, it
will first look for the files in the current directory, and
then look for files in the NComm: directory.
CallInfo presents an estimated phonebill based on the input from
the two files.
By choosing one of the many options available, CallInfo may
also present a lot of statistical information, like on what time
of the day and which day of the week you are usually calling.
It may display a "top twenty" so that you know which boards you
are usually calling. Find out about the rest yourself...
CallInfo has the following options:
[l] - Callinfo will ask you for a starting and ending
date, used by CallInfo to check when to start and
stop adding calls to the bill. Only the bill and
the price calculations are changed, the other
statistics are still based on *all* entries.
[c] - CallInfo will show calculations for each entry.
[n] - using 'CallInfo' without this option will make the
first counter last 1.5 times the normal length. This
will make the best possible match if your logfile
consists of many entries. However, if you want to
disable this feature and instead make a "worst match",
this can be done by choosing this option. CallInfo will
then always use the normal counterlength.
[w] - CallInfo will make a graph displaying how the calls
are dispersed on the different weekdays.
[d] - CallInfo will make a graph displaying how the calls
are dispersed on the different hours of a day.
[t] - CallInfo will display a list of the top twenty boards
and a lot of information for each board, like how
much time and money you have been spending on each
board.
You can redirect the output from this program by entering
"CallInfo >name". 'Name' has to be a valid AmigaDOS file or
device name.
Please observe; CallInfo uses the following dateformat:
"MMM DD YYYY". "Nov 23 1988" is an example of a valid date format.
The program can also be started from Workbench, simply click on
the icon.

This program is Shareware - you are not allowed to sell this program,
and you may only copy it for non-commercial purposes!
If you find this program useful, you really ought to send some sort of
a contribution to my address. Examples of such a contribution is 10$
or a couple of disks containing the hottest and newest public domain
or shareware programs, for my BBS. If I receive any contributions,
they will probably make me want to make many more programs!
IMPORTANT
I am not economical responsible if any calculations
made by this program are wrong. This program is only
meant to give you an estimate of what your next phone
bill will be!
When you specify the prices in CallInfo.rate, remember
to include the VAT! Or you will get a chock when the next
bill arrives...
When entering phonenumbers in the NComm phonebook,
enter them without spaces so that CallInfo can recognize
them.
If your logfile consists of more than 100 boardnames, the
toptwenty list made by CallInfo might not be correct.
