Title: A WORKING VERSION 12
Keywords: JX80 PRINTER DRIVER
-----
Epson JX-80 printer driver - version 12a
----------------------------------------
A word to the wise: Never set the spacing and THEN do a printer reset.
This tends to screw up printing.
Sorry again.
BTW, since this is now the Macview compatible driver, some folks have
commented that the pictures are smaller.
All you have to do is set your margins to 1 and 120, and you will get the
largest possible picture. (120 is more than needed, but easy to remember.)
----------------------------------------
Summary of features
-------------------
1) Black and Color double-printing
-------------------------------
To get Black to print twice, select 'LETTER' quality mode in Preferences.
To make the other 3 colors print twice also, select 'SINGLE' part forms.
Selecting 'DRAFT' quality makes things print normally.
2) What 'CUSTOM' paper length does
-------------------------------
There are some things that this driver does about handling paper that
I thought would be nice.
Normally, in starting a printout, you'll get a printer reset, followed
by one line-feed (to make sure everything is ready and lined-up). After
the printout is done, a form-feed will eject it from the printer.
BUT, if you don't want these (most desktop publishing programs don't work
well if these things happen), select 'CUSTOM' paper length. No reset,
no line-feed, no form-feed.
3) General Stuff
-------------
Lines in printouts have been reduced.
If a color doesn't need to print, it doesn't cause a "blank" pass.
(If the line is white, all you get is a line-feed.)
----------------------------------------
I still have plans for more features. The one that still is in the
early planning stage is to send the graphic data to a disk file as well
as to the printer, so that copies could be made with a COPY TO PAR:
command. Don't expect that too soon, however. AmigaDOS has been
bitchy about it so far.
Most recent changes to this driver were user's ideas. Let me know what
you want.
