  14.        This  manual  page  documents the GNU version of bbaasseennaammee.
  15.        The bbaasseennaammee command removes any leading path  from  _n_a_m_e;
  16.        If  _s_u_f_f_i_x  is  specified  and  is identical to the end of
  17.        _n_a_m_e, it is removed from _n_a_m_e as  well.   bbaasseennaammee  prints
  18.        the resulting name on the standard output.
