This is a demo PAL version of PONGO 1.1, a 3D morphing commercial program
written by Guido Quaroni and distributed in Europe exclusively by AmigaByte
magazine.

--------------------------
PONGO and its related files and documentation are copyrighted by Guido
Quaroni and distribuited by AmigaByte. This DEMO VERSION may be freely
distributed and copied for non-commercial purposes. Under no circumstances
may you redistribute the complete COMMERCIAL VERSION or a modified version
of the DEMO.
The DEMO VERSION of PONGO 1.1 may be included in a commercial or shareware
packet or any Public Domain disk series without the written permission of
the author or AmigaByte, as long as it is left unmodified (i.e. no files
are changed, deleted or added). We encourage you to upload this archive to
BBS's or distribute it through any network or magazine, as long as you
don't modify it or charge for it.
DISCLAIMER
----------
If you use PONGO 1.1, you do this entirely at your own risk. This
program is provided 'as is' without warranty of any kind, either expressed
or implied. The entire risk as to the results and performance of the
program is assumed by you.
INTRODUCTION
------------
PONGO is a 3D modeling program that may load, animate and transform 3D
objects in many different ways. PONGO directly supports the IFF ANIM5 file
format for animations, and generates objects that can be loaded by
Impulse's IMAGINE (all versions) and TURBOSILVER PRO 3.0 graphic programs.
Although PONGO is capable of generating solid color and wireframe IFF
animations, you'll need a professional modeler to create realistic ray
traced sequences. PONGO directly supports the IMAGINE object format, but
with the aid of a format converter other graphic modelers may be used.
The surface attributes (color, texture, brush map) of the morphed objects
are left unmodified: PONGO just changes the position of the points that
define the object, changing its shape. Hundreds of European graphic
artists have developed incredibly realistic award winning animations using
PONGO and IMAGINE.
PONGO has been praised in reviews by many Italian computer magazines, and
won a special prize at the latest Bit Movie graphic competition.
PONGO supports these transformation types: Transcale, Taper, Shear,
Rotate, Twist, Bend, Waves, Radial Bend and Metamorph. All transformations
may be combined (i.e. you might both Twist and Shear an object at the same
time).
The PONGO commercial package includes many ready-to-try projects, objects
and additional utilities (PONGOWAVES, VISUALIZER, STAGEGEN).
PONGO's pop-up menus and user interface are quite easy to understand. The
commercial version includes full printed documentation.

USAGE
-----
A few hints to get you started with the demo version:
1) PONGO requires the "reqtools.library" by Nico François in the LIBS:
directory. Both 1.3 and 2.0 OS version of the library should be
included in the PONGO demo Archive together with the main program.
2) PONGO works with both 1.3 and 2.04 versions of the operating system. At
least 1 Mb of memory (preferably Chip) is required (the more memory,
the better).
3) After unpacking the PONGO archive, you must assign the volume "PONGO:"
to the directory in which the program and its "Project" and "Object"
subdirectories reside.
4) This version of PONGO requires an Amiga capable of supporting the PAL
hires screen resolution (640 x 512). It CANNOT be used on an NTSC
computers, whose hires screens' size is 640 x 400 pixels. As a
consequence only European and Australian users may use this version of
PONGO. American users must wait for the release of the NTSC version,
which might be marketed directly by Impulse in the near future.
To load the example projects, just click on the "Load" gadget in the upper
part of the control panel. This demo version generates only IFF ANIM5
compressed animations, the "Save Object" function for Imagine TDDD objects
is disabled in this demo version, and is available only in the complete
commercial version.
HOW TO BUY THE COMMERCIAL VERSION
European and Austrialian (PAL) Amiga users may purchase the complete
working PONGO 1.1. software (including documentation) by sending the sum
of 99 US dollars (89 $ for the program + 10 $ for shipping and handling
expenses) or equivalent in your currency to

International money orders or cash are ok. We regret that we're not able
to accept credit cards or checks.
Please remember that PONGO will NOT RUN on NTSC Amigas. American users
will have to wait for the release of the NTSC version (which will NOT be
distributed by us).
