  22. INSTRUCTIONS......
  23.  
  24.   DF+ is devided into 2 main parts, I will try to describe each part
  25.   and its perticular features and limitations.
  26.  
  27. You must save before exiting the program, the program does all functions
  28. in ram: and will not save until you tell it to.
  29.  
  30. Part 1...
  31.      This is called the Table View Screen, its main purpose is to 
  32.      make a quick and easy interface to find a certain record. This 
  33.         version of DF+ you are limited to the fields that are hard wired
  34.         into the program, we will go over that more in part II. Anyway
  35.        only the first and last names show up on this screen which allows
  36.      about 20 records to show up at a time for quick access to your
  37.     record. Once you have found the record just double-click to 
  38.     access the detailed screen for that record. If your just starting
  39.      a file or what to go directly to the detailed screen click the
  40.     button on the bottom right to jump to the detailed screen.

  43. Part II...
  44.     This is the detailed screen which contains all information on
  45.     each and every record stored. The fields, which headings may 
  46.         not be edited ,are last name, first name(s),address, 
  47.         city, state, zip, home phone,work phone, and comments. 
  48.         Each field can contain any data you wish to place in it 
  49.         but the headings will remain the same. Each field is stored 
  50.         when the file is saved. Once you input your data in one
  51.     field and hit return the next logical field will then become 
  52.     active. For example, after you type data in city and hit return
  53.         the state field will become active. If you want the data in a 
  54.     field to remain unchanged hit return with no other input and the
  55.     data in that field will remain unchanged. You may go directly to 
  56.     one field by clicking on it with the mouse.

  58.         At the bottom right the available chip and fast ram is 
  59.         displayed.

  61. BUTTONS..
  62.         There are many buttons on the detailed screen this is a brief
  63.         description if each.
  64.  
  65.       Search..This actually takes your input and seaches the entire
  66.         file for any and all matches. Click somewhere in the box
  67.         to activate your cursor. Then type in the field you wish
  68.         the computer to search for. It will search all fields and
  69.         even find embedded strings. For example, you may type in 
  70.         any information you know, type "john" and the computer
  71.         will find john in the first name field, or is there is 
  72.         a street named johnson it will stop there to. If the 
  73.         first find is not the one you are looking for hit return
  74.         and it will jump to the next. The best way to learn is to 
  75.         play with the search command after you input some files.
  76.         (it will even find number strings in phone numbers)

  78.     Go to Top of file..Simple enough goes to record number one.
  79.  
  80.     Go to Bottom of file..Goes to last record
  81.  
  82.      Find record..click in the little box at the bottom of the 
  83.          screen to highlight cursor, then type in the number
  84.          of the record you wish to go to.
  85.  
  86.     Print this record only...This button will print all details
  87.          of the current record only.
  88.  
  89.     Save..This is a very important button, because for increased
  90.          speed this program does all sorting and record management   
  91.          in ram. Therefore I STRONGLY suggest that you save your
  92.          file about every 10 minutes or so. A requester will come 
  93.          up and all you have to do is to type the name of your data
  94.          file (Data.T is default) and click OK.

  96.     Load..This button displays a requester asking for the name
  97.          of the data file you wish.
  98.  
  99.          NoTe..The way this program stores data is not a straight
  100.            ASCII file, it trims away excess data to save space, 
  101.            it may be read with a ASCII reader, and 
  102.            may even be edited. But if you mess with a data file
  103.            from DF+ there is a chance you could make it unusable.

  105.     Create a New Record..This button is used whenever a new
  106.            record is to be added to the file.
  107.  
  108.     Delete this record..removes the currently displayed record
  109.            from the file.

  111.     Sort all enteries..This button is used to force a sort after
  112.            a record has been created. DF+ will auto sort any time
  113.            you move within the program, go to print, table view,
  114.            etc....

  116.     Scroll UP & DOWN..moves the current record showing up or
  117.            down by 1.
  118.  
  119.     Return to Name List..returns you to the table view.

  121.     Print..brings up the print requestor.(more later)

  123.     Quit..Quits the program..

  125. MENUS..
  126.     Pull down menus are available for the following.

  128.     New...Clears the current file from memory.
  129.  
  130.     Load...Loads files

  132.     Save...Saves files

  134.     Print...Brings up the print requester.

  140.     Edit...Brings up detail screen

  142.     NewCLI..opens a new cli on current screen.

  144.     Calculator...Displays a calculator on the screen.

  146. FILE REQUIREMENTS..
  147.  
  148.     For NewCLI to work the command newcli must be in your Sys:c
  149.     directory. Type endcli to close cli.
  150.  
  151.     For calculator to work it must be located in your system
  152.     directory.

  154. PRINTING...
  155.  
  156.     For now the printing capabilities of DF+ are limited.
  157.     There are four modes available. First make sure your
  158.     Preferences are set correctly.
  159.  
  160.     1.Single record Print..Available from detail screen
  161.       prints only the currect record.
  162.  
  163.     following are on the print requestor.
  164.     2.prints first and last name only.
  165.  
  166.     3.Prints in label style, may or may not fit your 
  167.       labels.
  168.  
  169.     4.Prints First & Last Name, Address, City, State, Zip
  170.       and Home Phone. Printer must be set for compressed
  171.       printing or the data will wrap.

  173. BUGS...
  174.  
  175.     For some reason the last record in a file does not
  176.     print correctly, therefore I suggest that you keep
  177.     a dummy file with last name ZZ so you good data will
  178.     not be effected.
