- Thank you for your interest in DIGI-VIEW! This video
- digitizer was designed to fully exploit the Amiga's diverse
- video capabilities. All modes are supported including
- the exclusive hold-and-modify mode for 4096 colors onscreen
- at once, and hi-res interlace modes for over 640x400 pixels.
- There simply is no better way to capture high quality images
- on the Amiga.
-
- To view the rolling demo of hold-and-modify images, enter CLI
- and type:
-
- cd Demo2: <return>
- digiviewer <return>
-
- You may stop the demo to view individual pictures by
- repeatedly pressing the spacebar. Disk drive activity should
- stop and a single picture will remain on the screen. Now
- type any letter A-Z. If the corresponding picture file is
- on the disk, it will be displayed. To start the automatic
- sequence again, press the F1 key.
-
- The monochrome photos are in IFF format and can be viewed with
- Deluxe Paint. Robert.lores can be loaded into normal 320*200 Deluxe
- Paint. Dozer.hires is in 640*400 mode, so you must use the high
- resolution version of Deluxe Paint (type 'dpaint hi'). These pictures
- cannot be viewed with 'digiviewer'.
-
- [Editor's note: The two pictures; robert.lores and dozer.hires
- can be viewed using the showilbm program which has been added
- to the demo disk. Use the command 'showilbm dozer.hires' for
- example. Fred Fish 16-Mar-86 ]
-
- The color photos are displayed in the 4096 color 'hold-and-modify' mode.
- There are currently no paint programs that can load files of this type.
-
- DIGI-VIEW is a monochrome device. A black and white camera with RS-170 2:1
- interlace is required. We recommend the Panasonic WV-1410 which can be
- purchased from us for $250. Note that most older security-type cameras
- do not generate 2:1 interlace.
-
- Color photographs are digitized using a B&W camera and color filters over
- the lens. Three seperate passes are necessary. Use of a monochrome camera
- in this fashion results in a much higher resolution image with superior
- color rendition, as you can see. Due to their striped image tubes,
- consumer color cameras have much lower resolution.
-
- DIGI-VIEW plugs directly into the Amiga's parallel port. There are no
- manual adjustments. All parameters; bright, contrast, color, width, etc.,
- are software controlled from the Amiga screen.
-
- DIGI-VIEW is not a real-time frame grabber. Capture times range from 5 to
- 30 seconds, depending on mode.
-
- Spatial resolution is 320*200, 640*200, or 640*400. Grey scale resolution
- is 7 bits, or 128 levels. Color photos are 21 bits, or 2,097,152 possible
- shades (maximum 4096 on screen).
-
- DIGI-VIEW will be available in May 1986. Retail price is $199.95.
