Wenn Sie schon existierende Partitionen verΣndern wollen k÷nnen Sie das in dosutils/ befindliche FIPS.EXE unter DOS benutzen oder jedes andere geeignete Programm, wie z.B.: Partition Magic. Die ─nderung der Partition muss stattfinden bevor die Installation fortgesetzt wird.
3. - Legen Sie Ihre Installationsdiskette und Ihre Linux-Mandrake-CD in die entsprechenden Laufwerke und starten Sie Ihren PC neu.
4. - Drⁿcken Sie ENTER bis der Prompt "boot:" erscheint und folgen Sie genau den auf dem Bildschirm erscheinenden Anweisungen.
5. - Nach der Auswahl der Installationssprache (German) und der Tastaturbelegung (de-latin-1) wΣhlen Sie "Disk Druid" um Ihre Linux-Partitionen zu erstellen/auszuwΣhlen. Die Mindestanforderung sind zwei verschiedene Partitionen:
Ihre Linux-(Haupt)-Partition, die auf " / " gemountet wird (Mount Point: / ). Dies wird das Hauptverzeichnis ("root directory"). Die Gr÷▀e sollte mindestens 300 MB betragen. Erfahrenere Benutzer werden die Verzeichnisse /usr und /home auf weitere Partitionen laden.
Eine Swap-Partition. Die Gr÷▀e dieser Partition sollte ungefΣhr das zweifache Ihres Arbeitsspeichers (RAM = Random Access Memory) betragen oder auch mehr fⁿr eine Verwendung als Server.
6. - Nach der Installation der Partitionen k÷nnen Sie Ihren Computer konfigurieren. Folgen Sie genau den Anweisungen und vergessen Sie nicht, den LILO (Linux Loader) im MBR (Master Boot Record) Ihrer Festplatte zu installieren.
7. - Wenn die Installation beendet ist entfernen Sie die Installationsdiskette und die Linux-Mandrake-CD aus den Laufwerken und starten Sie Ihren Computer neu.
8. - Linux sollte starten. Melden Sie sich am LoginPrompt mit "root" an. Wenn X-Window korrekt installiert wurde sollten Sie jetzt durch Eingabe von "startx" und ENTER das KDE starten k÷nnen.
Wichtiger Hinweis: Der "root"-Benutzer hat unbegrenzten Zugriff auf Ihr Linux-System. Er sollte nur zum konfigurieren oder zur Administration benutzt werden. Zum tΣglichen Gebrauch erstellen Sie einen normalen Benutzer mit den Befehlen "adduser USERNAME" und dann "passwd USERNAME".

Below are the main stages of installation:
0 - try to start up ("boot") directly on your Linux-Mandrake CD: it is self booting. If this works, jump directly to step 3.
1 - equip yourself with an installation disk. If you already have one jump to step 2. Else :
In LINUX: you must have already loaded your CD and be at its root. Also verify that you have a 3,5'' floppy disk in your main drive (/dev/fd0, A: under DOS). You may now read the dd(1) :-) manual page and type the following:

dd < boot.img > /dev/fd0
OR in DOS: assuming that your CD-ROM drive is on D: and that your 3,5'' floppy disk is on A: follow the instructions below. Please read the rawrite (rawrite3.doc) documentation in the dosutils/ directory. Type the following :

If you need to modify the size of your already existing partitions, you may use FIPS.EXE, which can be found in the dosutils/ directory of the CD, or another equivalent program such as, for example, " Partition Magick" This must be done before continuing the installation.
2 - insert your installation floppy disk and your Mandrake CD in your drives and restart your machine.
3 - press 'enter' until the 'boot:' prompt appears and carefully follow the instructions which appear on the screen.
4 - after having chosen the installation language (French) et the keyboard (fr-latin1), chose " Disk Druid " in order to create/chose your Linux partitions. The minimum requirement is to create at least two distinct partitions:
your main Linux partition, which will need to be loaded on " / " ("Mount point : / "). This will be the root directory (" root directory "). The size of this partition will need to be at least 300 Mb. More experienced users may load the /usr and /home directories on supplementary partitions.
a swap Linux partition. This partition will need to be equal to approximately twice the size of the available RAM (Random Access Memory), or more for a server.
5 - after the installation of all the partitions, you may configure your machine. Carefully follow the instructions and don't forget to correctly install LILO (Linux Loader) on the MBR (Master Boot Record) of your hard disk.
6 - when the installation is complete take out the floppy disk and the CD-ROM and restart your machine.
7 - Linux should start. " Log in " as " root ". If X-Window is correctly installed, you should be able to start up KDE by typing " startx " on the command line.
Important note : the " root " account will give you unrestricted access to your Linux system. Do not use it except to configure or administer Linux. For every day use, use a normal user account with the " adduser USER " and " passwd USER " commands.

Si necesita modificar el tama±o de particiones existentes, deberß utilizar FIPS.EXE que se encuentra en el directorio dosutils/ del CDROM, u otro programa equivalente como "Partition Magic" por ejemplo. Ello debe ser hecho antes de proseguir con la instalaci≤n.
2 - inserte su disquette de instalaci≤n y su CDROM Mandrake en los correspondientes lectores y reinicie su equipo.
3 - pulse 'Intro' (ENTER) cuando vea aparecer la lφnea "boot:" y siga con atenci≤n las instrucciones que aparezcan en la pantalla.
4 - DespuΘs de haber elegido el idioma de instalaci≤n (castellano) y el teclado (es-latin1), elija "Disk Druid" para crear/seleccionar sus particiones Linux. Debe crear al menos dos particiones distintas:
* su partici≤n Linux principal, que serß montada como "/" ("Mount point: /"), o sea el directorio raφz ("root directory"). Esta partici≤n debe tener un tama±o de por lo menos 300 MB. Los utilizadores mßs experimentados podrßn montar los directorios /usr y /home desde particiones suplementarias.
* una partici≤n de memoria virtual (swap linux). Esta partici≤n tendrß un tama±o de aproximadamente el doble de la memoria RAM disponible, o mßs para un servidor.
5 - despuΘs de la instalaci≤n de todos los paquetes, podrß configurar su mßquina. Siga atentamente las instrucciones y no olvide de instalar correctamente LILO (Linux Loader) en el sector de arranque (MBR, Master Boot Record) de su disco duro.
6 - una vez terminada la isntalaci≤n, quite el disquette y el CDROM y reinicie el equipo.
7 - Linux tiene arrancar. Entre como "root". Si X Window fuΘ instalado correctamente tiene que poder lanzar KDE tecleando "startx" en la lφnea de comando.
Nota importante: la cuenta "root" le da acceso total e irrestricto a su sistema Linux. Utilφcela unicamente para configurar linux y para adminsitrarlo. Para el uso cotidiano, utilice una cuenta de usuario corriente, que crearß con los comandos "adduser USUARIO" y "passwd USUARIO".

Les utilisateurs plus expΘrimentΘs pourront monter les rΘpertoires /usr et /home sur des partitions suppΘmentaires.
une partition de swap linux. Cette partition devra Ωtre Θgale α environ deux fois la mΘmoire vive disponible, ou plus pour un serveur.
5 - aprΦs l'installation de tous les paquetages, vous pouvez configurer votre machine. Suivez bien les instructions et n'oubliez pas d'installer LILO (Linux Loader) correctement sur le MBR (Master Boot Record) de votre disque dur.
6 - quand l'installation est finie, retirez la disquette et le CD-Rom et relancez votre machine.
7 - Linux devrait dΘmarrer. " Logguez " vous en tant que " root ". Si X-Window est correctement installΘ, vous devriez pouvoir lancer KDE en tapant " startx " en ligne de commande.
Note importante : le compte " root " vous donne un accΦs sans restrictions α votre systΦme Linux. Ne l'utilisez que pour configurer linux et l'administrer. Pour le travail quotidien, utilisez un compte utilisateur normal avec les commandes " adduser UTILISATEUR " et " passwd UTILISATEUR ".

Tappe Principali d'installazione :
0 - Prova a caricare ("boot") diretamente da il CD Mandrake : Se il vostro pc Φ predisposto per il boot attraverso il lettore cd-rom passare al punto 3.
1 - Procuratevi il dischetto d'istallazione ("boot") e passate al punto 2. Se non disponete di quest'ultimo leggete le seguenti istruzioni:
Istruzioni Linux: Questo caso presuppone che abbiate caricato il sistema operativo dal CD-Rom. Inserite un dischetto da 3,5'' nel apposito lettore floppy. Al prompt dei comandi digitate:
cd images
dd < boot.img > /dev/fd0
Per maggiori informazioni sul comando dd digitate al prompt dei comandi 'man dd'
Istruzioni DOS: assumendo che l'unitα D sia il lettore CD-Rom di base e che il lettore floppy (dischetti da 3,5'') sia l'unitα A, seguite le seguenti istruzioni:
D:\>cd DOSUTILS
D:\DOSUTILS>rawrite
Scrivere il nome del file immagine: d:\images\boot.img
Scrivere il nome dell'unitα destinazione: (es. a:\)
Si prega di inserire un dischetto formattato nell'unitα floppy A e premere 'Invio':
Se Φ necessario partizionare l'unitα Disco Fisso Φ possibile utilizzare FIPS.EXE, disponibile nella directory dosutils/ del CD-Rom, o utilizzare un programma simile come 'Partition Magick'. L'operazione di partizionamento del proprio Disco Fisso deve essere eseguita anteriormente alla fase d'istallazione.
2 - inserire il dischetto di istallazione ("boot") nel lettore floppy, il CD-Rom Mandrake nell'apposito lettore e riavviate il vostro pc.
3 - Premere Invio quando appare la scrita 'boot:' e seguire le istruzioni che appaiono.
4 - Dopo aver scelto la lingua di istallazione (Italiano) e definito il tipo di tastiera (it = Italiana),
scegliete l'opzione "Disk Druid" per gestire le partizioni disponibili sul vostro Disco Fisso. Per una istallazione Linux Φ necessario creare almeno 2 partizioni:
La partizione principale, da montare su "/ " (Mount Point).
Questa directory Φ chiamata 'root'. La dimensione minima per questa
partizione Φ circa 300 Mb. Gli utenti esperti possono montare directory quali /usr o /home su altre
partizioni. (scelta consigliata)
La partizione di Swap, un apposito spazio che viene gestito dal sistema operativo. Generalmente la dimensione di questa partizione Φ il doppio della quantitα di memoria ram disponibile. (es. se disponete di 32 Mb di ram potete creare la vostra partizione swap da 64 Mb)
5 - Una volta completata l'istallazione dei pacchetti software subbentrerα una fase di configurazione iniziale del vostro pc. Seguite le istruzioni con cautela e assicuratevi di istallare correttamente LILO (Linux Loader) sul vostro MBR (Master Boot Record) del vostro Disco Fisso.
6 - Completata la fase di istallazione e pre-configurazione rimuovete il dischetto floppy dal lettore e il CD-Rom Mandrake. A questo punto potete riavviare il vostro pc.
7 - Riavviando la macchina vedrete il sistema operativo attivare ogni servizio presente per arrivare ad una schermata finale dove potrete accedere al sistema come utente 'root' e digitando la password dichiarata in fase di istallazione. Una volta loggati al sistema digitate 'startx' al prompt dei comandi per lanciare l'interfaccia grafica KDE.
Avviso: Φ consigliato utilizzare l'utenza 'root' (amministratore) solo per configurare o amministrare il vostro sistema Linux. Per le operazioni quotidiane si consiglia di creare un utenza in questo modo:
adduser 'nome-utente'
passwd 'nome-utente'
e definire la password dell'utente appena creato.
