  9. When arriving before the russian position, the french forces deployed thenselft in two
  10. lines: the division of Suchet was the first line and those of Gazan was the second). The
  11. fights started at about 12h00 with an attack against bagovout forces and a confusing melee
  12. follows in this area. Meanwhile, the left of the Suchet division attacked Barklay's forces
  13. with very inferior forces.

  15. At this point, the Gudin division (actually commanded by Aultanne) of the corps of Davout
  16. came unexpectedly from the north. This attacks against the right russian flank where initially
  17. successfull but the russian reserve finally stoped it.

  19. At the center, the french attack did not rout the enemy. The fights ended at 20h00 without 
  20. winner but at the same time, the russian was defeated by Davout at Golymin. They therefore
  21. withdraw to Ostrolenka.
