  4. Hello dear user!
  5.  
  6. Mediamat is just minimized. If you maximize it you see it in a 
  7. selfmade look. You can create your own design with the included
  8. designer (of course to modify a background image you need a
  9. graphic application).
  10. The automatic view of this text is also an option of the Mediamat
  11. which can be used in your own project, usefull to run a song player
  12. at the beginning or anything else. The responsible option is called
  13. "Startbatch".

  15. Quick guide

  18. Preparation
  19. -----------
  20. Sure you want to experiment with different options.
  21. First you shoult make the pulldown menus visible to get access to all
  22. the functions of the Mediamat. Follow this prucedure to do that:

  24. 1. Maximize Mediamat if not already done
  25. 2. Press F12-key
  26. 3. Click into the left list on "Menu"
  27. 4. Switch the three shown entries to "On"
  28. 5. Click on "OK"

  30. Start an application
  31. --------------------
  32. There are 6 possibilities to start an application:
  33.  
  34. 1. Click on the START BUTTON (or start region in a background image)
  35. 2. Press the RETURN KEY (select an entry by cursor up/down)
  36. 3. DOPPLECLICK on an entry in the application list (left side)
  37. 4. Choose an entry to start by the FILE MENU
  38. 5. Choose an entry to start by the SYSTRAY MENU
  39. 6. Choose an entry to start by the POP WINDOW
  40.  
  41. Pop Window
  42. ----------
  43. Drive your mouse pointer to the most left or top point of your
  44. screen. With the designer this function can be switched on/off
  45. and can also be switched to permanent view (as you have seen in
  46. the standard configuration). If the group is changed in the main
  47. window the entries of the pop window will change in the same way.
  48. Tip: To get quick access to your most needed applications after
  49. system start choose a group in the designer (start presets/
  50. view group), and switch start mode to systray. Then put a link
  51. file in the autostart folder of your start menu.

  53. Mediamat useable as DOS command
  54. -------------------------------
  55. Mediamat as DOS command is searching for the drive, where the
  56. parameter file will be found.
  57. Type mediamat d:\program\chess\chess.exe
  58. Mediamat will search on any drive for the folder ?:\program\chess\
  59. to start the chess.exe.
  60. Usefull if the driveletter has been changed.

  62. Edit an entry in the application list of the main window
  63. --------------------------------------------------------
  64. There is the edit menu to add an entry or to edit an existing one.
  65. But it is much faster to reach a menu point by
  66. >>> CLICKING THE RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON <<<
  67. inside the application list.
  68. But this only works if the Edit menu is visible.
