Modification record for Telego
** There is a place to play go on the Internet which allows you to watch and
** kibitz other games or play with over 1000 players from all over the
** planet. Internet access is getting easier and less expensive. One easy
** access is through Delphi (1-800-695-4005).
Version 4.3
10/28/93
1. Added mouse control to the communications screen and the telephone
directory.
2. Added a 5-page scrollback buffer to display old data from the comm
screen.
3. Added drop-down menus to comm screen and several new menu items.
4. Control-C can be keyed from the comm screen without aborting.
5. Fixed several small bugs in the byo yomi clock section.
6. Edited the Telego manual to a different layout.
7. Included a small freeware text editor (TED.COM).
Version 4.2
08/21/93
1. When you and your remote opponent are using this version in Telego
mode you can now switch between Play and View mode and also play
Variations. In order to help keep the two players synchronized in
situations where the connection causes sizeable delays, some of the
menu items can only be selected when it is your turn. An exception is
the Variations item where it must be your opponent's turn to select
it. Two new menu items were added to the 'Other Functions' menu to
support these new features.
2. Turn the coordinate grid for the board on and off with <F8>.
3. Added a menu item to switch between the two communication protocols
before the start of a game.
4. Removed the 'Mouse delay' and 'Name game' menu items.
Version 4.1
04/29/93
1. Full control of the color of the board is available on the Defaults
screen.
2. Fixed a bug which gave the wrong Interrupt Req # for Com 3.
3. Added EGA and CGA support. To force Telego to a lower resolution
mode from what it automatically detects for your video card type
'Telego E' or 'Telego C' at the DOS prompt.
4. Fixed a bug in the byo yomi code for forfeited games.
5. Messages from the opponent appear in a color selected on the Defaults
menu.
6. You can set the mouse delay (in milliseconds) on the Defaults menu.
7. Create a PCX image of the board during a game and print it to an HP
compatible laser jet printer by hitting <alt> L. Error messages are
described at the end of the Telego manual.
Version 4.0
12/29/92
1. Comments made during modem play are no longer visible to opponent.
2. <F9> will show the current time.
12/06/92
1. Telego has been rewritten in C++ giving it more speed, improved
graphics and smaller program size. This version is for VGA users.
You will need to redo your Setup and Phonlist files.
2. Setups screen now asks for the name of a text viewer and a text editor
so you can use your favorite programs for these functions. I have
included a public domain text viewer (READ.COM).
3. If you are using a standard serial port you only need to select the
port number on the Setups screen. The Interrupt # and I/O address
have built-in defaults.
4. 13*13 and 9*9 boards are now available. When playing by phone in
Telego mode both players must manually select the agreed on board
size.
5. You will be notified during a modem game if the connection is lost.
This feature doesn't work if you are using PCPursuit and your
opponent disconnects.
6. Added a 'Mode' selection on the game menu. Two modes are available:
'Viewing' will not allow you to change the game record and is the
default mode when you select 'Recall game'. 'Playing' modifies the
game record and is the default mode when playing a game.
7. A 'speed box' at the left of the board is active during viewing mode
for rapid forward and reverse scanning of the game. No comments or
variations appear when using the speed box.
8. In local mode you can 'slide' a stone to a new location by holding both
buttons down and moving the cursor.
9. Rewrote the rudimentary territory estimator. When you estimate during
a modem game a message is sent to your opponent. You can agree before
the game whether you will allow each other to use this function.
10. On the file directory screen you can page the file list with a mouse
by clicking the buttons while NOT on either of the boxes.
11. Included a file (GOCIS.DOC) to help players use CompuServe's Modem to
Modem Lobby with Telego.
12. Dropped support for the Tele-tsuke program.
Version 3.8 02/16/92
1. Added a new field to the Phonlist database so PcPursuit users can put
the city code in the directory and have Telego autodial from the <F3>
key. You will need to overwrite your old Phonlist files and reenter
the phone numbers.
2. Added ymodem batch file transfer capability.
3. Cleaned up the communications screen and redefined some function keys.
4. Cleaned up the Setups screen.
5. Documented the <F8> estimator function (for mouse users).
6. Fixed a small bug in the Set Clock function.
7. Fixed a bug causing Telego to bomb after using <F7> to hang up the
modem.
8. Files with .TXT or .DOC extensions can be read by selecting them in the
Recall Game screen.
