****************************************************************************
1 General information
1.1 Introduction
Telego IGC is a program for IBM compatibles which enables you
to play Go with an opponent at your computer or over the telephone
using a modem. The program allows you to:
* save or replay games on disk
* explore variations as you replay a game
* set clocks for game time and byo yomi
* count the scores
* incrementally save the game to alleviate phone problems
* autodial from a database of players using any communications
port.
Telego is compatible with the Standard Go Modem Protocol implemented
by Nemesis, Many Faces of Go, and several other programs. The saved
games are readable with Goscribe. Telego can also be used on the
Modem To Modem Lobby on CompuServe and the Modem-to-Modem Games area
on Delphi.
1.2 System requirements
IBM compatible computer with 640 Kbytes of memory
DOS version 3.0 or higher
VGA, EGA or CGA video card and compatible monitor
Modem (to play over the telephone)
Mouse (earlier versions do not require a mouse)
1.3 Software list

This version of Telego was written in Borland C++. Some of the
graphics interface was built using Sun Country Software's 'C' Image
Library. The modem interface utilizes CompuSolve's COMET-MP. Many
thanks to Frank MacConochie and Terry Miller from the Atlanta Go
Club and Joel Dehlin, Mark Rindflesh and John Bernhardt from the
Wasatch Go Federation for their suggestions and help. Have fun!
1.5 READ THIS!
I have put a lot of time and effort into this product and I hope
that you can recognize that when you use it. If you find the
program useful, or you find that you are using it in any case,
please act responsibly and register your copy. I have to admit that
it is disheartening to field questions from a much larger number of
people than those who pay for what they receive.
This program is released as shareware, which means that you may make
as many copies as you like and distribute them to your friends, but
you may not sell them. You must include all the files listed above
if you distribute the program. Please register your copy by sending
a check for $20 to the name and address below. You will receive the
latest update of the program. I will also include a list of
registered users of both versions (IGC and modem-to-modem). If you
don't want your name and phone number added to this list, please
say so, otherwise your name will be included.

1.6 Overview
Items on menus can be selected by clicking the left mouse button or
by holding the <ALT> key down and pressing the first letter of the
menu item. Popup menus with numeric selections don't require the
<ALT> prefix.
After a game has been started, play stones by placing the cursor
over the desired point and clicking the left mouse button. The
right button will retract moves in local mode.
You can display the current time by keying <F9> while on the board
screen. Key <F10> to start (and again to end) making a comment
which will be saved with the game if it is archived.
2 Initial screen layout
2.1 QUIT AND RETURN TO DOS
Select this to exit the program.
2.2 SHAREWARE NOTICE
Describes what shareware is and how to register your copy of Telego.
2.3 LOCAL
Use this mode to play a game with someone at your computer, look
over a previously played game trying variations on the moves, or to
work through problems.
2.4 MODEM
Use this mode to play via modem. After selecting this you will see
a screen asking you to specify the protocol which you will be using.
Your opponent must be using Telego or a program supporting the
Standard Go Modem Protocol such as Nemesis or Many Faces of Go.
The baud rate for the communications on manually dialed numbers is
set in the DEFAULTS section. Phone numbers in the directory are
dialed at the rate chosen for the particular entry.
The next screen puts you in an interactive session with your modem.
If you type AT<RETURN> you should see an OK from your modem. If
this does not work you need to change the modem parameters in the
DEFAULTS area.
2.5 DEFAULTS
All the optional parameters for Telego are chosen here. You can
select the colors for the graphics by entering the appropriate color
number for each object. Note that the standard board color is
number 8 which displays on the Setups screen as dark gray but is a
woody color on the board screens. You can 'fine-tune' the color of
the board by adjusting the RGB values (0-63). The Editor and
Viewer are used in the RECALL GAME screen to edit or view game
files in their text format and to view help files. You can enter
your favorite editor and file-viewing utilities to replace the
default program names. Be sure to enter full pathnames for these
programs.
The Autosave interval is the number of moves after which Telego will
resave the ongoing game to disk when you are playing by modem (an
interval of 0 will disable this function).
The mouse delay is the number of milliseconds which Telego will
pause after the mouse button is clicked.
You must identify the port which your modem is using. The standard
values for the hardware I/O addresses and interrupts are
automatically selected, but you can change these if needed. If you
attempt to use the modem without identifying the serial port you may
run into difficulties such as no response from the modem or your
mouse may 'freeze up'. Rebooting the system will unfreeze the
mouse. If the parity selected is None then 8 data bits are used,
otherwise 7 data bits are used. There is always 1 stop bit.
The Modem Initialization string is sent to the modem when it is
first activated, and the Hangup string when it is deactivated.
Consult your modem manual for suggestions on other initialization
and hangup strings. The Dialing Prefix is appended to the front of
any phone number. An [ATDT] will touch-tone dial a number (ATDP
will pulse dial) and a [*70,] will disable Call Waiting. If you
don't have Call Waiting you must not use the [*70,]. The Disable &
Answer string is invoked by the X-Answer menu selection to disable
Call Waiting before answering the phone.
2.6 AUTOLOGIN SETUP
The autologin section is the script used for connecting with with a
telecommunications service such as Delphi. The program monitors the
incoming messages until one *exactly* matches the 'Look for...'
message (*including* the case of the letters and trailing spaces)
then the program sends the 'Respond with...' message. The first
'Look for' should be left blank.
You can force the program to stop and get input during the logon by
putting a question mark [?] on a 'Respond with...' line. For
example, if you want to enter a password put the following on the
appropriate line: 'Password?'. Telego will stop the logon to get
your password at this point then resume automatic functioning. If
you put the keyword [*c*] into a Response block, Telego will insert
the citycode from the phone directory at that point in the response.
For example, if the citycode is 'UTSLC/24' and the Response block
contains "C D/*c*,USERID" then Telego will actually respond with "C
D/UTSLC/24,USERID". This enables PCPursuit members to use the
directory dialing to connect without having to use the autologin.
2.7 HELP
This is gives you access to four help files.
3 Introduction to playing by modem
When you select Modem mode you will be on the communications (Comm
screen. Anything typed on the keyboard while in this mode is sent
to the modem. The screen buffer for previous screen information is
accessed by clicking the left mouse button in the blue area of the
screen. Several other keys are also functional:
<F8> turns a board coordinate grid on and off.
<F9> displays the current time.
<F10> starts and ends a comment for the game record.
<ctrl>G makes a visual and audible signal on your opponent's
computer.
Non-alphabetic characters appearing in the text box on the board
screen are an indication of a poor phone line connection. If you
have just established the modem connection in Telego mode and gone
to the board screen while your opponent is still on the comm screen,
he will see your typing but each letter will be preceeded by the
letter "T". Both players must be on the board screen before
starting the game or setting the clocks.
3.1 Communications screen layout
3.1.1 MODEM
This gives access to all the modem functions during the session.
3.1.1.1 ANSWER PHONE
This answers the phone. Alternatively, you could set the modem to
autoanswer by editing the Initialization string in DEFAULTS. The
standard command is ATS0=1 to autoanswer after the first ring.
3.1.1.2 X-ANSWER
Use this to disable your Call Waiting, then answer the phone. You
must fill in the proper command string in DEFAULTS in order for
this to work.
3.1.1.3 DIAL PHONE
This displays the phone directory (100 entries maximum). You can
add, edit or delete players, phone numbers, baud rates and
citycodes from the directory at this point. If you enter a valid ID
number, Telego will dial that number at the baud rate shown. You can
also manually enter a number not in the directory. The prefix
string selected in the DEFAULTS section will be sent at the start of
the number. If you fill in the citycode, Telego will use the
automatic login procedure before dialing the local phone number. Be
sure to update the login section in AUTOLOGIN SETUP so it contains
the [*c*] keyword (see section 2.5).
3.1.1.4 AUTOLOGIN
This will initiate an automatic login procedure specified using
information from the AUTOLOGIN SETUP section of the program.
3.1.1.5 HANGUP
This will disconnect the modem.
3.1.2 GO BOARD
This displays the go board.
3.1.3 FILES
Lets you transfer files (via xmodem or ymodem) and read the Telego
manual.
3.1.3.1 TRANSFER FILES
After connection you can use this key to transfer files (including
Telego itself) to your opponent. Both xmodem and true ymodem batch
protocols are supported. Ymodem is faster and will accept file
specifications with wildcards (see your DOS manual for information
on wildcards) so you can send multiple files with one request.
Xmodem is better only if the phone connection is noisy. Both
players must select the same protocol.
3.1.3.2 MANUAL
Displays the Telego manual.
3.1.4 SETTINGS
Changes the baud rate, local keyboard echo, and the protocol for
passing game information.
3.1.4.1 BAUD RATE
This allows you to change the baud rate from the default value
which is selected in DEFAULTS. You can use it even after
connection has taken place.
3.1.4.2 ECHO
This will toggle the echo of typed characters. This is useful if
you need to interact with a communications service or wish to chat
with your opponent before starting the game.
3.1.4.3 MODE
This shows the playing mode selected (Telego or Standard Protocol)
and allows you to change modes without disconnecting.
3.1.5 OTHER
Miscellaneous functions.
3.1.5.1 FIRST MENU
Return to the previous menu.
3.1.5.2 DOS SHELL
Go to a DOS shell and leave the modem connection as is. Use this if
you need to format a disk or do some other DOS function, then return
to Telego by typing EXIT.
3.1.5.3 EXIT TO DOS
Exit to DOS and leave the modem connection as is.
3.2 Description of the setup screen for modem play.
3.2.1 QUIT
This will return you to the initial screen.
3.2.2 RECALL GAME
A file selection screen will appear with all files in the current
directory listed. You can use the mouse or the keyboard to identify
the game you wish to recall. Key <Ret> or click the left button on
the highlighted line to select a game. If you are using a mouse and
the cursor is outside either of the boxes click the left button for
paging up and right for paging down. Further instructions are shown
on the screen for changing directories or file specifications. You
can also view <F4>, edit <F5>, or rename <F6> a file. Selecting the
double dot (..) on the directory list moves you to the parent of the
current directory.
Telego will read files written in Standard Format (e.g., from
Goscribe) but does not support the 'Mark' or 'Diagram' commands so
some information will not be available. After selecting a game in
local mode the board will clear and instructions for continuing the
game will appear. When playing via modem you will be prompted for
your color. The game will then be sent to your opponent and will
display on both screens. If you are using a clock, be sure to
select TIMER SETUP before recalling the game.
3.2.3 BEGIN GAME
This bring up a selection box for determining the handicap. Put the
cursor over the desired handicap and click the left button.
Selecting this means you must play the black stones. Click the
right button to abort.
3.2.4 TIMER SETUP
Prompts you to key in the time limit for the game (in minutes) and
the byo yomi setup. Two types of byo yomi are supported. In one
type you select the number of periods and the length of time for a
move. In the other you select one (1) period of so many seconds and
the number of moves to be made within that period. The second type
is not supported on the modem in Telego mode in versions earlier
than 4.0.
3.2.5 ODD OR EVEN
This will generate a random number and notify you and your opponent
whether it is odd or even. Use it on games with no handicap to
decide who plays black by asking your opponent to type either 'odd'
or 'even' then selecting this menu item.
3.2.6 CHANGE BOARDSIZE
This allows you to choose a 19*19, 13*13 or 9*9 board. When playing
by telephone using the Telego mode both players must manually select
the same board size before beginning the game. All saved games will
automatically set the board size.
3.2.7 MODEM SCREEN
This will take you back to the communications screen.
3.2.8 PROTOCOL: ...
This will change the communications protocol, switching between the
Telego and the Standard Go Modem protocols. Remember that both
players must be using the same protocol before starting the game.
Telego protocol is recommended whenever possible, since it is
faster.
3.3 Go board screen for modem play.
At the bottom left of the board is a display of the current move
number and the grid coordinates of the cursor when it is on the
board. Play a stone by positioning the cursor near the intersection
and clicking the left mouse button. In local mode the right button
will take back the last move. The last move played will be marked
with a dot of the opposite stone color. Games are ended by passing
twice in a row. After two passes Telego turns off the clocks and
the automatic capturing feature so that dame and sekis can be filled
and the game scored.
You can create PCX files (graphic snapshots) of the current board by
hitting <alt>L. This will take several seconds to process. If you
have an HP compatible laser jet printer attached to the LPT1 printer
port you will get a printout of the file. The filenames will start
at BOARD0.PCX and increment the number for each snapshot. When you
restart Telego the numbers will restart at zero. You should change
the board color to White if you want to use this function.
3.3.1 QUIT
This will return you to the startup screen after confirmation via a
selection box at the top of the screen.
3.3.2 BEGIN NEW GAME
This will return you to the initial game menu after confirmation via
a selection box at the top of the screen.
3.3.3 MODE: PLAYING/VIEWING
This selects the operational mode for the game. PLAYING mode will
create a new game record and is the default mode when beginning a
game. VIEWING mode allows you to view an existing game record and
is the default mode when recalling a game. In VIEWING mode click
the left mouse button to play the next move. Click the right button
to back up a move. At the left edge of the board is a high speed
drawing area. Hold the left button down while the cursor is in
this area to continue the redraw at high speed and the right button
to retract at high speed. Faster speeds are toward the right of
the speed box. When using the speed box COMMENTs and VARIATIONs
are not shown.
3.3.4 ARCHIVE
This will save the game to disk. A prompt will appear the screen
for you to specify a filename for the game. The default name is
'lastgame.gam' unless you had already specified a name from the
NAME GAME function on the Initial menu. You must key a <RETURN> for
the game to be saved. The file format is compatible with Goscribe.
3.3.5 UNDO MOVE
This retracts the last move played. In local mode it is equivalent
to clicking the right mouse button.
3.3.6 PASS
Select this to pass your turn. It is important to formally pass by
using this selection so that Telego can determine when the game is
actually finished. Two passes in succession will automatically turn
off the game clock and turn off the automatic capturing of
surrounded groups so that you can fill the dame and sekis and score
the game.
3.3.7 TIMER
This stops or restarts the local clock and allows you to update the
clock during the game. It is available only if you had selected
TIMER SETUP from the initial menu. When playing via modem a clock
status message is sent to your opponent whenever the clock is turned
on or off. If your game is interrupted be sure to note the times
remaining and remember to select TIMER SETUP before RECALL GAME when
starting up again.
3.3.8 SCORE
Counts the score (Japanese style), taking into account the prisoners
and territory, but not komi. If all dame have not been filled or
all prisoners have not been removed, a message will appear at the
left of the screen asking you to do so. Fill dame by placing the
cursor on the empty intersection and playing a stone. If you are
playing by modem in Telego mode it is important that you formally
end the game by both players selecting PASS from the menu. This
turns off the automatic capturing of stones and enables the players
to fill in dames and sekis in order for the scoring function to
work. See the next heading for instructions on capturing.
3.3.9 KILL
Identify a stone or group to capture by placing the cursor on the
stone and either clicking the left mouse button to capture the group
or the right button to kill one stone within a group. Leave this
mode by clicking either button when the cursor is not on a stone.
If you accidently capture a stone or group, select the UNDO MOVE
option to replace it.
3.3.10 VARIATIONS
Select this to explore variations of the game. When selected the
menu items will change. Select SCORE to score the game. UNDO will
remove the previous move. KILL lets you manually remove stones.
RECORD will save any moves played at this level of variation in the
game record then erase the moves on the board for this variation.
ERASE will erase the moves for this variation and will also erase
them from the game record. NEW will move on to the next variation
(really a variation on a variation.) You can save variations to a
depth of 10 levels. You must be completely out of variations (the
VARIATIONS menu item appears) before you can continue with the game.
3.3.11 OTHER FUNCTIONS
Useful miscellaneous functions.
3.3.11.1 NUMBERING IS ON/OFF
When numbers are ON all stones played will have the move number on
the stone. This function is useful for copying a game in from a
magazine in which the game is shown in several figures. Numbering
is not available in CGA mode.
3.3.11.2 WHITE ONLY IS ON/OFF
This selection determines whether the stones played are all White
stones. Non-alternating colors are useful for setting up problems.
3.3.11.3 BLACK ONLY IS ON/OFF
This selection determines whether the stones played are all Black
stones.
3.3.11.4 FIND CAPTURES IS ON/OFF
Toggle the automatic capturing feature. If you want to play Gomoku
or Renju turn this off. After two passes in a modem game this is
auto- matically turned off so that you can fill dame and sekis prior
to scoring.
3.3.11.5 ESTIMATE
If you are not using the CGA video mode, this enables a simple
device for counting territory. In order to count the empty
intersections in an area you must enclose the area by holding the
left mouse button down and 'dragging' the cursor. A line will be
drawn on the board following the path of the cursor. When an area
is *completely* bounded by the line, count the territory by
releasing the left button, then clicking the right button within the
enclosure. If you click on a stone of the surrounding group the
prisoners within will be counted. Otherwise the number of empty
intersections will be displayed. Exit this function by pressing
both mouse buttons at the same time. The sum of all enclosed areas
will be displayed in the message box.
3.3.11.6 RECORD COMMENT <F10>
This will start recording any typing to a comment stored with the
game record. Key <F10> to stop recording the comment. Recorded
comments will appear when the game is recalled and played through,
but comments are skipped if you are using the speed box (see above
at MODE: PLAYING/VIEWING.)
3.3.11.7 GRID IS ON/OFF <F8>
This displays a coordinate grid on the edge of the board. In order
to save space on the screen the 'tens' digit is not shown.
3.3.11.8 TAKE OPPOSITE STONE COLOR
This will allow you to swap colors with your opponent during a modem
game. This is only selectable when it is your turn to play. Your
opponent must also be using Telego version 4.2 or higher and you
must be using Telego mode for the connection (not standard
protocol). This feature and the next one (below) make it possible to
review a game which you have completed and try different moves while
still connected by modem.
3.3.11.9 PLAY BOTH COLORS
This will allow you to take control of playing both colors during a
modem game and is useful if you want to play out a sequence of moves
for your opponent during a game review. This is only selectable
when it is your turn to play. Your opponent must also be using
Telego version 4.2 or higher and you must be using Telego mode for
the connection (not standard protocol).
4 Introduction to playing locally.
A special function useful for working problems is available in local
mode. If you hold both mouse buttons down while the cursor is on a
stone then drag the cursor to a new location and release the mouse
buttons, you can 'slide' a stone to a new board position. Note that
the prisoner count changes when using this function.
4.1 Setup screen for local play.
4.1.1 QUIT
This will return you to the startup screen.
4.1.3 RECALL GAME
A file selection screen will appear with all files in the current
directory listed. You can use the mouse or the keyboard to identify
the game you wish to recall. Key <Ret> or click the left button on
the highlighted line to select a game. If the mouse cursor is
outside either of the boxes click the left button for paging up and
right for paging down. Further instructions are shown on the screen
for changing directories or file specifications. You can also view
<F4>, edit <F5> or rename <F6> a file. Selecting the double dot
(..) on the directory list moves you to the parent of the current
directory.
Telego will read files written in Standard Format (eg, from
Goscribe) but does not support the 'Mark' or 'Diagram' commands so
some information will not be available. After selecting a game the
board will clear and instructions for continuing the game will
appear.
4.1.4 BEGIN GAME
This bring up a selection box for determining the handicap. Put the
cursor over the desired handicap and click the left button. Click
the right button to abort.
4.1.5 TIMER SETUP
Prompts you to key in the time limit for the game (in minutes) and
the byo yomi setup. Two types of byo yomi are supported. In one
type you select the number of periods and the length of time for a
move. In the other you select one (1) period of so many seconds and
the number of moves to be made within that period.
4.1.6 NAME GAME
This prompts for the game filename. The default filename is
'lastgame.gam' and the file will be in the same directory which
Telego resides. You can specify a path along with the filename if
you want the file stored in another directory.
4.1.7 ODD OR EVEN
This will generate a random number and notify you whether it is odd
or even. Use it on games with no handicap to decide who chooses the
stones first by asking your opponent to choose either 'odd' or
'even' then selecting this menu item.
4.1.8 CHANGE BOARDSIZE
This allows you to choose a 19*19, 13*13 or 9*9 board. All saved
games will automatically set the board size.
4.2 Go board screen for local play
At the bottom left of the board is a display of the current move
number and the grid coordinates of the cursor when it is on the
board. Play a stone by positioning the cursor near the intersection
and clicking the left mouse button. The last move played will be
marked with a dot of the opposite stone color. The right button
will take back the last move.
4.2.1 QUIT
This will return you to the startup screen after confirmation via a
selection box at the top of the screen.
4.2.2 BEGIN NEW GAME
This will return you to the initial game menu after confirmation via
a selection box at the top of the screen.
4.2.3 MODE: PLAYING/VIEWING
This selects the operational mode for the game. PLAYING mode will
create a new game record and is the default mode when BEGINning a
game. VIEWING mode allows you to view an existing game record and
is the default mode when RECALLing a game.
In VIEWING mode, click the left mouse button to play the next move.
Click the right button to back up a move. At the left edge of the
board is a high speed drawing area. Hold the left button down while
the cursor is in this area to continue the redraw at high speed and
the right button to retract at high speed. Faster speeds are toward
the right of the speed box. When using the speed box COMMENTs and
VARIATIONs are not shown.
4.2.4 ARCHIVE
This will save the game to disk. A prompt will appear the screen
for you to specify a filename for the game. The default filename is
'lastgame.gam'. You must key a <RETURN> for the game to be saved.
The file format is compatible with Goscribe.
4.2.5 UNDO MOVE
This retracts the last move played and is equivalent to clicking the
right mouse button.
4.2.6 PASS
Select this to pass your turn.
4.2.7 TIMER
This stops or restarts the local clock and allows you to update the
clock during the game. It is available only if you had selected
TIMER SETUP from the initial menu. If your game is interrupted be
sure to note the times remaining and remember to select TIMER SETUP
before RECALL GAME when starting up again.
4.2.8 SCORE
Counts the score Japanese style, taking into account the prisoners
and territory. If all dame have not been filled or all prisoners
have not been removed, a message appears in the text box asking you
to do so. Fill dame by placing the cursor on the empty intersection
and playing a stone. See the next heading for instructions on
capturing.
4.2.9 KILL
Identify a stone or group to capture by placing the cursor on one of
the stones and clicking the left mouse button to capture the group
or the right button to kill one stone within a group. Leave this
mode by clicking either button when the cursor is not on a stone.
If you accidently capture a stone or group, select the UNDO MOVE
option to replace it.
4.2.10 VARIATIONS
Select this to explore variations of the game. See section 3.3.10
above for a description.
4.2.11 OTHER FUNCTIONS
Useful miscellaneous functions.
4.2.11.1 NUMBERING IS ON/OFF
When numbers are ON all stones played will have the move number on
the stone. This function is useful for copying a game in from a
magazine in which the game is shown in several figures. Start the
game with numbers ON and copy in the first figure. Then REDRAW the
incomplete game. Turn numbers ON again and copy in the next figure
and repeat these steps until the entire game is copied.
4.2.11.2 WHITE ONLY IS ON/OFF
This selection determines whether the stones played are all White
stones. Non-alternating colors are useful for setting up problems.
4.2.11.3 BLACK ONLY IS ON/OFF
This selection determines whether the stones played are all Black
stones.
4.2.11.4 FIND CAPTURES IS ON/OFF
Toggle the automatic capturing feature. If you want to play Gomoku
turn this off.
4.2.11.5 ESTIMATE
A simple territory estimator. See section 3.3.11.5 above for a
description.
4.2.11.6 RECORD COMMENT
This will start recording any typing to a comment stored with the
game record. Key <F10> to stop recording the comment. Recorded
comments will appear when the game is recalled and played through,
but comments are skipped when replaying using the speed box (see the
above MODE: PLAYING/VIEWING).
4.2.11.7 GRID IS ON/OFF
This displays a coordinate grid on the edge of the board. In order
to save space on the screen the 'tens' digit is not shown.
5 Problems?
5.1 You can't change directories or shell to DOS.
Be sure COMMAND.COM is available on the drive and directory path of
Telego. Try commenting out items in your CONFIG.SYS and
AUTOEXEC.BAT files. Also try reducing Command.com's environment to
the default size.
5.2 There is not enough memory to retrieve some games.
Try reducing the number of files in the directory. Four hundred
(400) files per directory is the maximum with this version of
Telego. If a game file has more than 1000 lines pull out some
comments or variations using the <F5> editor on the 'Recall Game'
screen.
5.3 The mouse doesn't work.
Be sure the mouse driver is installed in your AUTOEXEC.BAT or
CONFIG.SYS file. Just because you have a mouse in Windows does not
mean the mouse driver stays installed for Telego.
5.4 The screen freezes up and you are locked out.
There may not be enough memory on the video card. The VGA mode
needs at least 256 Kbytes.
5.5 You can't access the Help files.
Be sure the full pathname and filename for the text viewer is
correct in the DEFAULTS setup screen.
5.6 Modem doesn't always disconnect.
Try adding more delay time in the hangup string.
5.7 Modem won't connect or garbage on the comm screen when you move the
mouse. Change the com port setting in DEFAULTS.
5.8 File (SETUPTG.DAT) for defaults and login menus is faulty.
Delete the file and rerun Telego, then choose DEFAULTS and rewrite
the information. This will ensure a clean starting point for the
information.
5.9 If you have some other problem not listed here, or still can't get
Telego to work, I will be glad to help you fix it. Drop me a
message on CompuServe (73740,2530) or Delphi (srichard), or send
snail mail to: Stephen E. Richard
