DISGO
DISGO (Discovery the Great Ones) is a new type of trivia game.
The user is shown up to 7 clues that relate to the answer.
After each clue, a letter is exposed in the answer. This is
followed by a true/false question that relates to the clue. If
the answer is not solved by the end of the seventh clue, the
user may then try to solve it by guessing letters.
Points are awarded for correct answers on the true/false
questions as well as guessing the answer. The sooner the answer
is solved, the more points you receive. DISGO can be played by
one or two players.
SCORING
Correctly guessing the answer will score 1500 points multiplied
by the remaining clues. An incorrect guess will deduct 5000
points. A correct guess on a true/false question will award you
an additional 500 points. If you are playing a two player game,
the above scores are doubled. This version supports only one
player.
STARTING DISGO
From your DOS prompt, type DISGO and press the ENTER key. In
order for Disgo to run, you must be logged onto the directory
where DISGO.EXE resides. Disgo must be able to locate the
files DG01.INF, DG02.INF, & the four DISGO001 files.
If you have problems running DISGO, start the program by typing
DISGO S and press the ENTER key. This will instruct Disgo not
to use the Sound Blaster sound support.
TANDY 1OOO
NOTE: If your computer is a Tandy 1OOO, the file "T1KVGA.COM"
may be required to be in memory before playing Disgo. If you
cannot play this game, install the "T1KVGA.COM" file in
memory first. From your DOS prompt, type T1KVGA and press the
ENTER key. You may then play Disgo as described.
The first screen you see will display the copyright notice and
version number of Disgo. Once your hear a beep you may press
any key to continue.
PLAYING DISGO
When you first start playing Disgo, you will be asked to enter
the name of player number 1. You must enter a name before
proceeding. You will then be asked to enter the name of player
number 2. If you are the only one playing, just press the ENTER
key without entering a name for player 2.
- 2 -
The game will start by first showing you a clue. You will have
30 seconds to read this clue. If you read fast and wish to
proceed, press the ENTER key. If you wish to solve the trivia
answer, press F2 to solve. If you give up and want to quit,
press the ESC key.
After the clue has timed out or you've pressed the ENTER key to
proceed, you will be shown a letter in the answer. If the
letter appears more than once in the answer, all the letters are
shown. Immediately following this will be a true/false question
that relates to the clue you just read. You must answer with a
T or F response. A correct answer will award you extra points.
The game will continue in this fashion until you either abort or
solve the trivia answer. You will be given seven clues and
seven true/false question. If you have not solved the answer
after the seventh clue and true/false question, you will have
one last chance.
The last chance will allow you to enter up to seven letters, one
at a time. This part resembles a hangman game. Once the trivia
answer is solved or you've gone through all your guesses, you
are brought back to the starting screen.
OPTIONS
On the playing screen, you will see four options displayed on
the lower part of your screen. The following four options are:
F1 Play F3 Select F8 Scores F10 Quit
The upper right portion of the screen will show a clock with the
letter T and a musical note with the letter S. These are two
more options available while viewing this screen.
