  11. INTRODUCTION:  (Ya know the stuff people hate and all!)

  14.     Have you played your games, and like had a hard time winning and all. 
  15. Well with this database on your system, you will have an advantage over the 
  16. Nasty video games lurking in your house.  As the years passed, video games 
  17. have gotten more and more annoying, and to help you out, fellow gamers, such 
  18. as writers of gaming mags, have printed codes to help ya out, but one 
  19. prob is, that after a while all those codes in those mags begin to 
  20. stockpile.  And so do the mags.  Wouldn't it be nice (getting close there!) 
  21. to like have all those codes right in front of your face on one piece of 
  22. paper. (What a drag you say... I gotta look it up and all!) Well not anymore, 
  23. with CODES, a FREEWARE product (ShareWare bytes, and Commercial will 
  24. become FREEWARE anyway.) you will have lots of codes right at your fingertips. 
  25. Just look up de title you wanna find, and presto, many codes from many mags 
  26. come up for your viewing pleasure. How fun, huh????
  27.  
  28. Anyway I wrote this little program, cause I got sick of holding those old 
  29. mags for years. So one day I wrote this little program, and started to type 
  30. out some of the codes I have used before. I did this by going through my old 
  31. mags, and even (Believe it or not!) my own head. Anyway, TA-DA, a list has 
  32. been made of many codes for many games.
  33.  
  34. I did plan on like updating the list monthly but me being a smart-ass college 
  35. student, do not have the time to go and do that... ya know classes and friends 
  36. (party!!!) get in the way. BTW, ZIMA try it out...!! Anyway, I will update the 
  37. list probably like every four months, and all.

  39. I was not planning on releasing this, but I saw some program out there that 
  40. did the same thing, but one thing about that program is that I saw was the 
  41. fact that it was SHAREWARE and had an annoying musical beep in front of it.. 
  42. Well due to that I wanted to let those poor, and cheap people out there 
  43. (like me!) be able to get the same type of program for $0.00, not 
  44. counting your connect time.

  46. Anyway ENJOY... and cheat you old games away....

  48. INSTALLATION:
  49. -------------
  50. Well take de ZIP, ARJ, whatever file, and then Unzip all its contents to one 
  51. directory. Then just run de program.

  55.     3) COPY <DLOAD_DIR>CODE####.ZIP \CODES
  56.     4) PKUNZIP CODES.ZIP -O
  57.     5) DEL <DLOAD_DIR>CODES.ZIP

  59. DO NOT ERASE THE PKUNZIP.EXE FROM THE WORKING DIRECTORY OF THE DATABASE! OK!

  61. Windows 3.X (This is for Running CODE.EXE as a Windows Application)

  64. There is also a Windows 3.1 Icon for those who like running Dos programs from
  65. Windows, just make sure that you are running CODE.EXE as a full Screen App.

  67. ** If you do wish to run CODE.EXE as a Non-Full Screen App, then add the 'N' 
  68. ** loadparameter when executing CODE. EX: CODE N
  69. ** Then modify the CODE.PIF and change the StartUp directory to that of where
  70. ** your version of code is running. And set program manager to run CODE.PIF.
  71. ** This option will turn off graphical usage, so remember now that you can 
  72. ** not view pictures while in the dataBase with this option is turned on.

  84. Code is very simple to use, at the Code Screen (No Main-Menu on Screen) press
  85.  HIT <F10> TO ACCESS THE MAIN MENU 
  86.       <F5> TO SEARCH FOR CODES     
  87. on Some Games: (Not All Games have these Options)
  88.  Press <F7> for MCGA picture.
  89.  Press <F1> for previous page.
  90.  Press <F3> for the next page.

  121. Press Q to Exit to Dos, (S) to Search for a Game (Same as F5)
  122. and (L) to Load a Specific Code (If you know the FileName or ID Number)

  124. Use (L) for a game that you use the DataBase for Alot, using (L) is much
  125. faster then (S)[F5] in getting the code on the Screen. Enter FileName with
  126. or without extention, or .ID# for a ID Search! NOTE: ID # Search is much
  127. faster then even FileName Search.

  139. Use Up/Down Arrows and PGUP/PGDWN to find a game, also you may type in
  140. the beggining part of the game name as well, and the list will go there.

  142. Hints for finding Games
  143. -----------------------
  144. The DataBase is huge, and some games may not be as easy to find as others,
  145. Examples such as: The Flinstones, at times in the DataBase you will find the
  146. game as "FLINSTONES" or in some cases as "THE FLINSTONES". So when looking 
  147. for a specific game keep that in mind, cause for some games I put begging
  148. words such as "THE" in and for some I did not. Also look for cases with
  149. abbriviations such as T.M.N.T. and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

  154. 1) I did not put any viruses or stuff on de file, so if it has one 
  155.    I recommend you start calling other BBS's to get this program.
  156. 2) I do not claim this will work on every system.

  164. such as Electronic's Gaming Monthly, GameFan, Nintendo Power, and other

  179. other source, as long as this program is not charged for. That being that if
  180. it is on a SHAREWARE CD, people are paying for the CD and not this program.
