Perspective view: To move along the XZ plane, press and hold the I key while moving the mouse. To move along the Y axis, press and hold the I key and the RMB while moving the mouse. To change orientation, press and hold the O key and move the mouse.\n\nParallel view: To move along the plane, press and hold the I key while moving the mouse. To zoom in and out, press and hold the O key while moving the mouse.\n\nTo find the cursor's current position, watch the status bar.\n\nTo change the green marker's position, press and hold the X key while moving the mouse in the parallel views. The green marker is used to define positions for new objects and the origin for new brushes.\n\n
To define a brush, first move the green marker to where the top polygon of the brush is to be. You must do this in a view perpendicular to the top polygon. Then define the vertices of the top polygon by moving the cursor and pressing the space bar. Once the polygon is closed, define the height of the brush. The other polygons will be extruded from the top polygon.\n\nTo place a new object, first move the green marker to the object's position. Then select World|Add Object... Select the object from the class heirarchy.\n\nTo select a brush, move the cursor over the brush, press and hold the T key, then click the LMB. Clicking the LMB repeatedly cycles to the next brush under the cursor.\n\nTo select an object, first select Object Edit mode from the toolbar. Then move the cursor over the object. Then press and hold the T key. Finally, click the LMB.\n\n
To move a brush or an object, first select it. Then press and hold the M key and LMB, while moving the mouse.\n\nTo texture a brush, first select it. Then select the texture from the Textures tab. Finally, click Apply Texture button on the toolbar.

Use the spacebar to create a vertex on the grid. This will start a new polygon if you're not already drawing one.
If you hold down CTRL while pressing the spacebar, it'll snap to the green vertex. You can split polygons by using this on two points on polygon.
Walkthru Move Mode: Move along XZ plane. Orbit Move Mode: Dolly to/away from focus.
Press this to set the focus point to the green point.
Hold down T and click LMB over brush. Each LMB click cycles to next brush under mouse.
Un-tags all selections.
Pressing G places the grid along the red polygon.

Pressing these keys places the grid along a principle axis (x, y, z).
Select vertices, brushes or objects from a rectangle. Hold B and left-click and drag rectangle.
Hold down E and right-click drag to extrude the red poly.
Hold down Q and right-click drag to scale the red poly.
Hold down R and right-click drag to extrude the red poly. This will delete the original polygon. This is useful for bringing out tunnels or doorways.
This is the same as R, but it scales the polygon. This is useful for creating doorways.
Inserts a vertex at the center of the green edge.
Deletes the green vertex.
Deletes the selected poly. Remember that Delete only deletes the vertex, which is most likely NOT WHAT YOU WANT TO DO. Deleting a vertex will most likely screw up your geometry (which is BAD).

Modifies grid spacing. First click in the view to change the spacing. Then press the + and - keys on the keypad. You can do this at any time, giving you more or less detail to the grid.
Hold down Z and right-click drag to resize the grid.
Hit F to flip the selected poly. If the poly isn't textured, it's a good idea to have normals on.
Hold C and move mouse to move the far clipping plane closer or farther. This is used cut down the number of polygons displayed. This is especially useful if the level you are working on is HUGE.
Select and move a brush so it intersects other brushes and press H. This will carve the selected brush's shape out of the intersecting brushes.
