  10. If you are having difficulty making and maintaining connections, try
  11. the iMac Internal 56k (v.34 Only) script.  This script forces the
  12. modem to connect at 33.6 kbps or lower speeds.  These connections are
  13. more robust in situations where the phone line quality is marginal.

  16. Instructions:
  17. This software consists of a self-mounting Disk Copy compressed image
  18. (.smi) file. Download this software to your hard drive and then
  19. double-click it to use it. You do not need Disk Copy to access .smi
  20. files.

  23. The modem script must be placed inside the Modem Scripts folder.  The
  24. path to the Modem Scripts folder is:
  25. System Folder

  29. Open the Modem control panel and select the script you wish to use. 
  30. It is not necessary to restart your iMac in order to use the new
  31. script.
