  1. Version 1.03 of the Mac Browser...
  2.  
  3. ==> You need to use Mac ftp with the "MacBinary" mode.
  4.  
  5. The file MacWWW_1.00.hqx is a self-extracting archive, double-click it after
  6.  you have copied it. There are no extra files and no installation procedures.
  7.  
  8. The MAC browser works well on system 7 and system 6.0.5.
  9.  
  10. However, you *MUST* use MacTCP 1.1.1, because earlier versions have a bug in
  11.  memory handling that shows up only if you open and close many connections, and
  12.  that is exactly what WWW does.
  13.  
  14. Anchors are shown as dark blue text in colour mode and as underlined on black
  15.  and white mode.
  16.  
  17. The startup page is built-in as the CERN home page. To change it, use 
  18. the Preferences in the File menu.
  19.  
  20. Changes since version 1.01 :
  21.  
  22. -    Open document by URL
  23. -    Trace flag can be set in the preferences menu.
  24. -    Addition of  'About MacWWW' menu item
  25. -  Underline anchors option
  26. -    Bug fixes include,  more than one keyword search
  27. -    FASTER
  28. -    a HotList
  29.  
  30. Planned for following versions :
  31. - display of GIF, TIFF, PostScript (prototype works)
  32. -    to fix link to internet news group.  Currently crashes.
  33. - short built-in help
  34. - access to local files
  35. (etc.)
