  7. Please read the README.FIRST file - found at the root level of this server - 
  8. for general information and instructions on unarchiving and uncompressing
  9. files (files with the ".sit", ".hqx", ".zip", ".tar", and ".Z" extensions).

  12. software offered on the ftp server.

  15. HYPERCARD ANIMATOR
  16.  
  17. HyperCard Animator Package is a toolkit for persons wishing to animate a series 
  18. of vector graphics frames in HyperCard.  The package contains four items, the 
  19. NCSA TektoPICT application, a HyperCard Template, the documentation and a Tek 
  20. 4010 example file.  All of the tools as well as the documentation is also 
  21. include in the Stuffit volume in this directory.

  23. The idea behind the package is that many scientists and other people doing
  24. graphics may wish to make a quick movie of their plots.  Most vector graphics
  25. packages have a driver for creating Tek 4010 output.  The user will create a 
  26. file containing a series of Tek 4010 frame which he wished to animate.  This 
  27. file is downloaded to the Mac, and then NCSA TektoPICT is used to convert this 
  28. file into a file containing PICT resources.

  30. The HyperCard template has a special XCMD which reads PICT resources created
  31. by NCSA TektoPICT.  After the files are read in, people can control the 
  32. simulation with the provided buttons.  As always with HyperCard, users are 
  33. encouraged to add functionality, however the import of frames should not be 
  34. altered in any basic way, as most of the program is contained in the XCMD, not 
  35. in HyperCard Script language.
