  1. This is the University of Minnesota's Internet Gopher distribution for
  2. UNIX machines.  Here's a breakdown by directory:

  5. doc:          The documentation for all parts of the distribution.
  6.               Look here *first*.  Important files:
  7.                    INSTALL   -- Installation instructions
  8.                    *.changes -- Stuff that's changed from version to version
  9.                    *.doc     -- extra documentation.
  10.                    man pages, etc.
  11.  
  12. gopher:       The Internet Gopher Curses client.
  13.  
  14. gopherd:      The Internet Gopher data/directory/index/sound Server.
  15.  
  16. mindexd:      A utility to send index queries to multiple index servers.
  17.  
  18. misc:         various shell scripts/gateways and such...
  19.  
  20. examples:     A directory ready to drop into a gopherd server
  21.               directory.  If you want the wais index you will have
  22.               to run the script build-index in the appropriate directory.
  23.  
  24. Please look in the directory "doc" for more information about installing
  25. the various portions of the Internet Gopher.  Specifically refer to
  26. the file INSTALL.
