  8. Sort N Slice is compatible with Windows 95/98/ME NT/2000/XP.
  9.  
  10. 95/98 Users: If you have a brand new OS installation please visit
  11. the Windows Update site and install the latest updates from
  12. Microsoft. Our apps use versions of some windows OS dlls that were
  13. updated by Microsoft from the original releases of 95 & 98.

  15. NT 4 Users: Although not absolutely required, we suggest you have
  16. SP 6 installed.

  19. To install Sort N Slice, follow the instructions below.

  21. We prefer you install via our self-installer because the installer
  22. sets up an uninstall function in Control Panel, Add-Remove
  23. Programs. If you prefer a zip file you can download one from our
  24. web site. Visit http://www.funduc.com/sortnslice.htm
  25. for a download link.

  27. See 'FileList.txt' for a description of the files installed. All files
  28. are put in the path of your choice. C:\Tools\SortnSlc is the suggested 
  29. but you can change this if you like.

  33. Installation Instructions for Windows 95/98/ME NT/2000/XP
  34. ----------------------------------------------------------

  36. 1. Unzip the contents of the archive into a temporary subdirectory.
  37.  
  38. 2. Run 'setupss.exe' to install the program. The installer will
  39. prompt you for the path to install to. C:\Tools\SortnSlc is the
  40. suggested default but you can use any path you wish.

  42. 3. Delete the temporary files you unzipped from this zip.

  45. Uninstall Instructions

  48. 1. Close Sort N Slice if it is running.
  49.  
  50. 2. Go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs.

  52. 3. Scroll down until you see 'Sort N Slice'.

  54. 4. Click on the Add/Remove button.

  57. Note: You might be interested in our freeware utility, HexView.
  58. HexView is a multiple document Hexadecimal viewer that can
  59. display, print, and print preview any file as a hex dump.  When
  60. installed into the same directory as Sort N Slice, Search
  61. and Replace will automatically use HexView as the context viewer
  62. for binary files.  Download HexView from www.funduc.com.  It is
  63. also available from several forums on CSI and from the AOL
  64. shareware archive.
