  47. Search and Replace looks through multiple files for a string and
  48. can also replace it with another string.  It can search
  49. subdirectories and ZIP files and do case sensitive or insensitive
  50. searches. Extensive support for regular expression (egrep) search
  51. & replacement includes operations that span more than one line,
  52. insertion of the path & filename during replacements, and
  53. incrementing number replacements. Binary search & replace mode can
  54. be combined with regular expressions.  Precise control over
  55. replacements is available through multiple confirmation options
  56. and a built-in context viewer that allows you to view replacements
  57. in- context, before they are made. An HTML Mode can be used to
  58. make html special character code substitutions during
  59. search/replace. Ignore Whitespace mode makes it convenient to
  60. handle spaces & cr-lf during non-regular expression operations. A
  61. built-in script editor makes frequent &/or complex multi-step

  88. The "Wizard" allows you to construct &/or modify regular
  89. expressions for use in our Search and Replace utility. The program
  90. can be used to help you learn the syntax or debug complex
  91. expressions involving many operators. You can visualize the effect
  92. of each of operator in a sample text pasted into the Wizard from
  93. the clipboard or retrieved from disk. Operator effects are
  94. presented in-context, using colors to distinguish the current term
  95. from other parts of the overall expression. When you are
  96. satisfied, the final expressions can (optionally) be inserted the

  106. FSDBMgr is an open source, freeware Database Manager for SQLite
  107. databases. We created FSDBMrg for internal use and have made the
  108. source code available under GNU Lesser General Public License
  109. (LGPL). A working compiled sample and sample database are
  110. available. The source can be modified and compiled using free
  111. resources. Functions in the demo version & sample code include:
  112. Built-in queries & code to find customers, examine & modify their
  113. purchase history, add purchases, etc; Import new records &

  124. Resource Translation Toolkit (RTT) is utility to simply
  125. translation work on po, rc, and tmx files. Various translation
  126. suites are available but they are expensive or limited to a single
  127. file type. Resource Translation Toolkit is low cost and can work
  128. with multiple file types. The program runs on Windows 2000 and
  129. above, is small in size (approx 3 MB including support files), and
  130. does not place extensive demands on your computer. Resource
  131. Translation Toolkit is for software authors, translators, and
  132. technical users.

  143. missing files.  Comparisons can be based on dates or a binary file
  144. analysis of file content.  You can copy, move, & rename files

  176. Funduc Software ZIP Extractor (freeware) 
  177. ========================================

  179. A ZIP "self-extractor stub" that lets you turn your ZIP files into a
  180. self-extracting executable that will automatically unZIP the archive
  181. when launched. This allows you to share your zip files with another
  182. person who might not have an unzip software on their computer &/or
  183. who might have only occasional use for an unzip tool. The self-
  184. extractor allows some or all files to be extracted, create the paths
  185. in the zip file (default) or "flatten" the directory structure
  186. (unzip into a single path), or extract some (or all) of the files in
  187. the zip. Cost: Free.

  191. Registry Toolkit (shareware)
  192. ============================
  193.  
  194. Registry Toolkit lets you search &/or replace and edit the Windows
  195. registry.  You can specify the data types to process, start key,
  196. case sensitive, whole word.  Regular expression operations using
  197. an egrep-type syntax are also available.  You can create/edit
  198. keys, values, &/or data manually if you wish.  A unique
  199. 'operations' function lets you move/copy/delete/export values you
  200. select.  For example, you can copy/move keys from one location in
  201. the registry to another.  The program keeps multiple 'undo' files
  202. that can be used to reverse previous changes (10 is the default).
  203. An automatic 'last change' undo is available from the program GUI.
  204. Replaces can be previewed in advance, in- context.  Replaces can
  205. also be previewed in the context of an overall search - a
  206. comparison dialog then lets you select/deselect specific
  207. operations to perform before making the overall replace. The
  208. program can print search & registry browse results.  The .reg
  209. import function allows you to compare existing data vs data to be
  210. imported - specific items can then be selected/deselected.  The
  211. .reg export function can be used to make special .reg files that
  212. delete keys when merged via Registry Toolkit or our new RTMerge
  213. program (see our web site). The various program comparison dialogs
  214. are configurable and their contents can be copied to the windows
  215. clipboard.  The program can read DOS environment variables and use
  216. them in a search/replace. Script file & command line functions are
  217. available for automated &/or complex operations.  Registry Toolkit
  218. will operate on a remote registry (if you have permission to do
  219. so).  The program is for Windows 2000 and above (32-bit or 64-
  220. bit).  A German interface is available. Cost: $25

  224. RTMerge (shareware/freeware)

  227. Registry Merge is a command line utility that merges .reg files
  228. into the Windows registry. While this can be accomplished using
  229. regedit.exe, RTMerge has two added features: 1) The program can
  230. serve as a 'stub file' to automatically apply a .reg as an .exe.
  231. The .exe is prepared in advance. End users can then apply the .reg
  232. simply by clicking on the .exe. 2) The program can apply .reg
  233. files that delete keys. This is something not easily accomplished
  234. via regedit. See the program readme.txt for usage instructions.

  239. Folder Synchronize (shareware)
  240. ==============================

  242. Folder Synchronize is a command-line utility useful to network
  243. administrators and other power users.  It provides a subset of the
  244. functions in our Directory Toolkit utility, namely, the comparison
  245. & synchronize functions.  We created Folder Synchronize for those
  246. who needed those functions but not the GUI interface & other
  247. functions of Directory Toolkit such as archive management, file
  248. operations, etc. Folder Synchronize is a native 32-bit Windows
  249. executable.

  251. Folder Synchronize can synchronize two paths using one of 6 synch
  252. methods. The program can also do a comparison-only. This is useful
  253. with the output report function. When the output report is enabled
  254. it will contain a summary of the path comparison &/or a summary of
  255. the file operations carried out by the synchronize. Other features
  256. include: Switchable display (or not) of a progress meter; A custom
  257. bitmap & message of your choice can be displayed on the screen while
  258. an operation progresses; A 'No Cancel' switch can be used to make it
  259. less easy for a procedure to be interrupted; Require (or not)
  260. confirmation of file operations; Complex include/exclude file masks
  261. that let you include/exclude some file or subdirectories while
  262. including others; Multiple operations can be submitted to the

  267. Folder Synchronize Script Editor (currently freeware)

  270. The 'Script Editor' is used to generate (or edit) script files
  271. that can then be used with Folder Synchronize or our Directory
  272. Toolkit utility. The script switches are presented in an organized
  273. arrangement. The display of related switches can be
  274. collapsed/expanded for readability.

  278. File Merge Express (shareware)
  279. ==============================

  281. File Merge Express is a file comparison and merge utility for 32
  282. bit Windows. The program displays a contents comparison of two
  283. files and can (optionally) create a third file consisting of the
  284. merge of the two files being compared. That third file can
  285. (optionally) be opened in the built-in text (or binary) editor.
  286. Multiple configurations choices are available for the file
  287. contents comparison and the merge file contents including:
  288. difference prefixes, display colors, whether or not to include
  289. common sections, etc. Command line switch and a script syntax are
  290. available for your automated routines. The program also includes a
  291. Windows Explorer extension that allows you to launch a comparison
  292. from Windows Explorer. Cost: $25

  296. Application Mover (shareware)
  297. =============================
  298.  
  299. Application Mover is a tool that relocates installed programs from
  300. one path to another on your hard disk. Application Mover takes
  301. files found in the path you specify and moves them to a new path
  302. that you specify. Application Mover scans the windows registry for
  303. references to files located in the 'Current' field and changes
  304. those references to the New path. Application Mover also scans all
  305. windows shortcuts in the Start Menu and adjusts path references to
  306. the new program location. Finally, *.ini and Install.log files
  307. present in the original program path are checked for strings
  308. matching the old path location. If found, these strings are
  309. changed to the new location. Confirmation dialogs are available.
  310. If a file is 'busy' and cannot be changed to the new location, a
  311. reboot prompt is offered. Pending changes are then completed after
  312. the reboot. Cost: $15

  316. Application Inventory (shareware)
  317. =================================
  318.  
  319. Application Inventory is a utility that scans your system for
  320. program .exe files and generates a configurable report about the
  321. files that were located. Optional follow-up scans are then
  322. initiated automatically to cross reference the initial scan
  323. results with windows .lnk shortcuts and/or references in the
  324. windows registry.  Further details on files are available from
  325. Properties and References dialogs.  Include and exclude filters
  326. are available to define the initial search by path &/or string(s)
  327. found in file version information. The fields included in the
  328. initial file scan are configurable.  Results be sorted, copied to
  329. the clipboard, printed, or saved in a delimited file you specify.
  330. Application Inventory can also launch windows explorer on the path
  331. containing a file in the results list. Although Application
  332. Inventory is intended as a reporting tool, various windows
  333. properties sheets can be launched that allow you to make edits to
  334. file or shortcut properties. The program defaults to scanning for
  335. .exe files but a special switch is available to scan for another
  336. file type that you specify. Cost: $15

  340. Duplicate File Finder (shareware)

  343. Duplicate File Finder is a tool that locates duplicate files on in
  344. one or more paths.  Unlike other utilities that only check file
  345. names, Duplicate File Finder performs a binary comparison of file
  346. contents and can locate files that are alike regardless of names.
  347. The scan can be defined by path, file mask(s), and (optionally)
  348. with complex filters for size/date/attribute.  Results can be
  349. copied to the windows clipboard or saved to a tab delimited file.
  350. Functions to delete files, launch Windows Explorer, and show file
  351. properties are available.  You can also launch a file in the
  352. results list by double clicking. Cost: $15

  356. Shortcut Doctor (shareware)
  357. ===========================

  359. Shortcut Doctor allows you to check your Windows links/shortcuts
  360. and see which contain targets which can no longer be found. The
  361. program can then delete the shortcuts, resolve them, or carry out
  362. search/replace operations to modify shortcut fields with or
  363. without validation of new paths. Network Drive mappings can be
  364. inserted in the Replace dialog automatically. Individual shortcuts
  365. can be edited and all shortcuts on a drive can be displayed,
  366. regardless of whether they are valid or not. Explorer Internet
  367. URLS can also be checked for problems. CD-ROM drives, network
  368. drives, and specific paths can be ignored during processing.
  369. Includes an Empty Recent Documents button. Script files, run from
  370. the command line, allow you to do multiple operations, control
  371. program options, and easily specify complex paths. A German
  372. interface is available. Cost: $15.

  379. Funduc Explorer Extensions is a collection of enhancements for the
  380. Windows Explorer right-click context menu: a) Encode and Decode
  381. Email attachments - support for UUENCODE, Base64(Mime),
  382. BinHex(Mac), XXENCODE, quoted-printable, 7 bit unencoded, & plain
  383. text, b) Split and Concatenate large files into smaller ones for
  384. storage on floppies & visa versa. Split can be based on file size
  385. or a string found in a file, c) Touch files - change the time,
  386. date, & attributes of files. Touch can add (or subtract) a user
  387. specified time value from the current file time. d) File
  388. Operations - copy/move/rename/delete files using complex file
  389. masks. The program can also change case of file names & number
  390. files. A German version is also available. Cost: $15.

  394. Drive Bar (shareware)

  397. Drive Bar allows you to conveniently open views of your drives in
  398. Windows Explorer. Drive Bar's Auto Hide function allows it to
  399. disappear from view when not in use so that it does not take up
  400. screen space when not in use. You can resize Drive Bar and have it
  401. remain visible at all times if you like. You can also specify a File
  402. Manager program to use instead of Windows Explorer, launch drive
  403. views as "Tiled" or not, not include specified drives in the list of
  404. drive icons, and have Drive Bar run automatically at Windows startup
  405. (see Options). Cost: $10.

  409. Update Toolkit (shareware)
  410. ==========================

  412. Update Toolkit is command line utility that provides 4 
  413. functions within a single application:
  414. - Moving/copying files
  415. - Changing and checking Windows shortcuts
  416. - Searching and changing the Windows Registry
  417. - Searching and changing text files
  418.  
  419. Update Toolkit is oriented towards administrators who need to
  420. perform these operations on multiple workstations. The program is
  421. launched with a single command line. Because no graphical user
  422. interface is involved, no special steps are required to disable a
  423. program GUI when routines are run on individual workstations.
  424. Progress meters and confirmations are available if you like but
  425. these can be easily disabled. Unlike some other 'program mover'
  426. type applications that give little control over the steps to be
  427. taken, Update Toolkit allows you to specify all aspects of
  428. operation. Furthermore, you can use any combination of the areas
  429. of functioning. For example, you can use the file
  430. copy/more/compare functions and not the other three. Or you can
  431. modify shortcuts and examine the registry but do nothing with the
  432. file or text search/replace functions.

  439. Copy most Windows controls' data to the clipboard!  That's just
  440. one of the features of this freeware program from Funduc Software.
  441. The program can report the type and content of some of the windows
  442. currently displayed on your desktop and for the most popular types
  443. of controls (including lists and trees) it can copy their contents
  444. to the clipboard.  You can also copy the contents of password
  445. fields and regular text boxes. Cost: Free.

  452. DupBlock is a freeware utility that generates blocks of text based
  453. on a template and variables you specify.  The user enters a
  454. default text block and defines the variables. Variables can be
  455. printf- style counters or list variables.  Output can be sent to
  456. the windows clipboard or a file, append mode or not.  An example
  457. use of DupBlock is generating a scripts for one of Funduc
  458. Software's other utilities that uses script files for automated
  459. tasks. Cost: Free.

  463. HexView for Windows
  464. ===================

  466. HexView allows you to view, print, print preview of any file as a
  467. Hex Dump. HexView is intended as a free companion program to our
  468. utility, Search and Replace. However, it is a standalone application
  469. and you are free to use it as you see fit.  The source code (C++
  470. using MFC 4.x or higher) can be downloaded for free from
  471. http://www.funduc.com. A Japanese version is available.

  475. DBComp (Freeware)
  476. ==================

  478. DBComp is a database comparison and merge application. The program
  479. performs two basic tasks: 1) The Compare Data Sources function
  480. compare two OBDC data sources for alike vs. different records and
  481. generate a Difference File that lists the records that either do
  482. not match or have been added/deleted from one data source compared
  483. to the other. 2) The Merge function examines a Difference File
  484. generated by DBComp and updates the specified data source via SQL
  485. statements. You can view the SQL statements in advance and remove
  486. one (or more) in advance if you wish. DBComp can be used to update
  487. remote data sources when it is impractical or inefficient to
  488. distribute an entire copy of the database to the remote location.
  489. The program can also be used to examine a data source against an
  490. archived (older) copy for the purposes of debugging or historical
  491. examination. Cost: Free

  495. Decode Shell Extension (freeware)
  496. =================================
  497.  
  498. This very popular freeware app is an extension for Windows
  499. Explorer. The program allows you to decode Internet email
  500. attachments by right-clicking on a saved message file from
  501. Explorer and selecting Decode from the menu. The program supports
  502. multiple attachments, multi-part files (already concatenated),
  503. UUENCODED, Base64(MIME), BinHex (Mac format), quoted-printable,
  504. XXENCODED, plain text files, and User (table) encoded files. If
  505. the attachment contains only one file, Decode Shell Extension will
  506. offer to open it using either the associated program or Notepad.
  507. For virus safety reasons, it will not offer to launch .exe., .com,
  508. .bat, & .cmd files. You should scan decoded Word and Excel files
  509. with your anti-virus checker before loading them. Cost: Free.

  516. Word Search and Replace is a freeware Word macro for Microsoft

  520. Matching', Case Sensitive, and Whole Word. Cost: Free

  536. PowerPoint Search and Replace rounds out our collection of
  537. freeware find and replace Office Macros. This macro is a
  538. PowerPoint .ppt file that works with MS PowerPoint files using the
  539. find and replace functions that are part of PowerPoint. You need
  540. to have the full version of PowerPoint installed. The macro can be
  541. run as a slide show but it will not work if you only have the
  542. PowerPoint Show Viewer from Microsoft. Cost: Free

  550. TZAdjust, which stands for Time Zone Adjust, is a freeware app we
  551. created for users who find it necessary to make manual changes to
  552. the Windows time zone and 'day light savings' offset parameters.
  553. TZAdjust is probably of greatest interest to Windows NT-class
  554. users. NT/2000/XP returns time information as an offset from
  555. Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). In addition, the OS automatically makes

  583. Delivery Agent is a send-only e-mail program, with mail merge
  584. functions, for use by web site managers, network administrators,
  585. customer relations and support personnel, etc.  The program is
  586. used to deliver frequently used, customer-requested e-mail
  587. messages (& MIME attachments) such as newsletters, product
  588. delivery & announcements, support notes, etc.  Messages can be
  589. sent to one or more users by selecting a message from a list and
  590. entering the users' address.  The program can read a text file
  591. containing a list of addresses for bulk delivery.  Recipients of
  592. bulk deliveries are shielded from seeing the other recipients in
  593. the list.  The program checks a POP e-mail account prior to
  594. sending message via SMTP - useful for servers that 'validate' the
  595. users current IP address prior to mail relays.  Version 3.0 adds
  596. MAPI support.  When activated, the program will route outgoing
  597. messages to your primary MAPI-aware e-mail program.  Mail merge
  598. field name definitions, variable names, and data are stored in a
  599. single file containing the data and e-mail addresses.  Variable
  600. names can be anything you like (except for the name of the e-mail
  601. address field). Mail Merge 'Constants' can also be defined.  The
  602. program has a customizable header function that can be used to
  603. send web mail' or 'HTML mail'.  The "To: " field can also be
  604. customized for bulk, non- mail merge deliveries.  Port settings to
  605. use and maximum number of recipients per block can be configured
  606. manually.  Settings and messages can be created via the program
  607. GUI or, once you are familiar with the program, via an external
  608. text editor.  A full complement of command line switches allows
  609. the program to be incorporated into your .bat routines.  A log
