  8. Application Mover is a tool that relocates installed
  9. programs from one path to another on your hard disk.
  10. Application Mover: 1) scans the windows registry for
  11. path references that need to be changed and makes the
  12. change to the new path; 2) Checks and changes windows
  13. shortcuts in the Start Menu to the new location; 3)
  14. Performs a search and replace on *.ini and Install.log
  15. files present in the original program path to change
  16. path references to the new location; 4) Moves the
  17. files.

  19. The shareware version is limited to 10 uses.

  21. IMPORTANT: Read though the program F1 help before using
  22. Application Mover for the first time!!  Read the "Important
  23. Notes" topic for technical information about the program and

  73. Search and Replace looks through multiple files for a
  74. string and can also replace it with another string.
  75. It can search subdirectories and ZIP files and do case
  76. sensitive or insensitive searches.  Extensive support
  77. for regular expression (egrep) search & replacement
  78. includes operations that span more than one line,
  79. insertion of the path & filename during replacements,
  80. and incrementing number replacements. Binary search &
  81. replace mode can be combined with regular expressions.
  82. Precise control over replacements is available through
  83. multiple confirmation options and a built-in context
  84. viewer that allows you to view replacements in-
  85. context, before they are made.  A built-in script
  86. editor makes frequent &/or complex multi-step
  87. search/replace operations easy to prepare.  Advanced
  88. script operations include a boolean expression
  89. evaluator that provides additional control over which
  90. files are processed by the script. Advanced scripts
  91. also allow you to specify the program options in
  92. effect and insert comments in scripts. Multiple file
  93. masks and file date & size filters can be used to
  94. include &/or exclude files during regular and scripted
  95. operations.  The internal context viewer includes a
  96. build-in editor for editing text files. The full

  110. Registry Toolkit (shareware) - Registry Toolkit is a
  111. utility for advanced computer users that performs
  112. search &/or replacement operations on the Windows
  113. 95/98/NT registry. You can search/replace using case
  114. sensitive or insensitive settings and regular
  115. expressions in registry data, values, keys (or any
  116. combination) and specify the types of data to process.
  117. If you cancel a search the results up to that point
  118. (if any) are displayed in a tree list. You can print
  119. and print preview the search results, import or export
  120. parts of the registry to/from text files, create and
  121. edit keys, values, & data of all types, delete keys &
  122. values (after confirmation), and undo the last changes
  123. made. Registry Toolkit will operate on a remote
  124. registry (if you have permission to do so).  Cost: $25

  126. Shortcut Doctor for Windows 95/NT (shareware) -
  127. Shortcut Doctor allows you to check all your
  128. links/shortcuts and see which contain targets which
  129. can no longer be found.  You can then delete the
  130. shortcuts, resolve them or replace all shortcuts
  131. pointing to a certain drive or directory with another
  132. (after validation of new path is made). Individual
  133. shortcuts can be edited and all shortcuts on a drive
  134. can be displayed, regardless of whether they are valid
  135. or not.  CD-ROM drives or network drives can be
  136. ignored during processing. Cost: $15.

  138. Funduc Explorer Extensions (shareware) - Explorer
  139. Extensions allow you to perform additional tasks using
  140. a familiar interface: the Windows 95/NT Explorer.  You
  141. can split and concatenate files to/from diskettes;
  142. Encode/Decode UUENCODE, Base64(Mime), BinHex(Mac), and
  143. XXENCODE formats (Decode also includes printable, 7
  144. bit unencoded, & plain text), Touch files (change
  145. time/date stamp as well as attributes). Cost: $15.

  147. HexView for Windows 95/NT (freeware) -  HexView allows
  148. you to view, print, print preview of any file as a Hex
  149. Dump.  HexView is intended as a free companion program
  150. to our utility, Search and Replace. However, it is a
  151. standalone application and you are free to use it as
  152. you see fit.  The source code (C++ using MFC 4.x or
  153. higher) can be downloaded for free from

  156. INI to Registry for Windows 95/NT (freeware) - This
  157. program works well with any program that relies on
  158. .ini files.  It can read the contents of any INI file
  159. and load them into the Windows 95/NT registry.  That
  160. way programs which previously used INI files can read
  161. the old data from the registry.  The program is free.

  166. Decode Windows 95 Shell Extension (freeware) - This
  167. Explorer extension provides a subset of the decoding
  168. features available in Directory Toolkit.  It allows
  169. you to decode a UUENCODED, XXENCODED, BinHex or
  170. Base64(MIME) file by simply right-clicking on it in
  171. the Explorer and selecting Decode from the menu.  It
  172. supports multiple attachments, multi-part files
  173. (already concatenated), XXENCODED and User (table)
  174. encoded files in addition to UUENCODED, Base64(MIME)
  175. and BinHex (Mac format) files.

  177. Count Characters (freeware) - This little app was
  178. written to: a) Allow users to dump the contents of
  179. combo, edit and list boxes as well as static and
  180. button fields to the clipboard. This can come in handy
  181. for browser lists, as well as items displayed by other
  182. applications to which you otherwise have no access. b)
  183. To help users understand how applications are built
  184. (what types of controls are used).  Other tools are
  185. available for this of course but they are usually
  186. known only to programmers. c) To allow users to know
  187. at any time how many characters they have typed in an
  188. edit box.  This might be useful, for example, if a
  189. site asks you to only enter a certain amount of data
  190. in their fields but don't tell you that you went over
  191. until it's too late.  Depending on the editor, html
  192. authors might also find this handy for double checking
  193. the length of meta tags.  Separate Win3x & Win
  194. 95/98/NT versions included.
