  47. Search and Replace looks through multiple files for a string and
  48. can also replace it with another string.  It can search
  49. subdirectories and ZIP files and do case sensitive or insensitive
  50. searches. Extensive support for regular expression (egrep) search
  51. & replacement includes operations that span more than one line,
  52. insertion of the path & filename during replacements, and
  53. incrementing number replacements. Binary search & replace mode can
  54. be combined with regular expressions.  Precise control over
  55. replacements is available through multiple confirmation options
  56. and a built-in context viewer that allows you to view replacements
  57. in- context, before they are made. An HTML Mode can be used to
  58. make html special character code substitutions during
  59. search/replace. Ignore Whitespace mode makes it convenient to
  60. handle spaces & cr-lf during non-regular expression operations. A

  89. The "Wizard" allows you to construct &/or modify regular
  90. expressions for use in our Search and Replace utility. The program
  91. can be used to help you learn the syntax or debug complex
  92. expressions involving many operators. You can visualize the effect
  93. of each of operator in a sample text pasted into the Wizard from
  94. the clipboard or retrieved from disk. Operator effects are
  95. presented in-context, using colors to distinguish the current term
  96. from other parts of the overall expression. When you are
  97. satisfied, the final expressions can (optionally) be inserted the
  98. respective Search and Replace fields. Cost: Freeware - Program F1

  104. Word Search and Replace

  107. A freeware macro for Microsoft Word 97 and above. We created
  108. 'WordSR' for those of you who need a tool to search and replace in
  109. Word documents but find Funduc's Search and Replace too powerful
  110. for your purposes. The Word Search and Replace macro uses the find
  111. and replace functions built-in to Microsoft Word. It does not use
  112. our Search and Replace product so your available functions are the
  113. same as those from that are available from the Word 'Find and
  114. Replace' dialog. Word Search and Replace can process more than one
  115. file by specifying a 'wild card' in the dialog's 'File Mask (with
  116. path)' field. Cost: Free

  122. macro for Microsoft Excel that searches (and replaces) in multiple

  128. PowerPoint Search and Replace rounds out our collection of
  129. freeware find and replace Office Macros. This macro is a
  130. PowerPoint .ppt file that works with MS PowerPoint files using the
  131. find and replace functions that are part of PowerPoint. You need
  132. to have the full version of PowerPoint installed. The macro can be
  133. run as a slide show but it will not work if you only have the

  141. A multipurpose directory comparison and file manager that provides
  142. features missing from Windows 95/98/ME and NT/2000 or higher. It
  143. displays single directory lists or side- by-side directory
  144. comparisons using color coding for alike, different, or missing
  145. files.  Comparisons can be based on dates or a binary file analysis
  146. of file content.  You can copy, move, & rename files while retaining
  147. long filenames and six built-in synchronize functions simplify
  148. updating directories. Built-in archive functions, with Explorer
  149. shell extensions, let you create & manage archives from Explorer and
  150. use Directory Toolkit as your primary archive manager for supported
  151. archives (zip, tar, gz, lz (read only), & cab).  File operations and
  152. directory comparison functions work seamlessly on files in archives,
  153. e.g., no need to manually extract files first. Other features
  154. include statistics for file counts and path sizes; Ignoring filename

  177. Funduc Software ZIP Extractor (freeware) 
  178. ========================================

  180. A ZIP "self-extractor stub" that lets you turn your ZIP files into a
  181. self-extracting executable that will automatically unZIP the archive
  182. when launched. This allows you to share your zip files with another
  183. person who might not have an unzip software on their computer &/or
  184. who might have only occasional use for an unzip tool. The self-
  185. extractor allows some or all files to be extracted, create the paths
  186. in the zip file (default) or "flatten" the directory structure
  187. (unzip into a single path), or extract some (or all) of the files in
  188. the zip. Cost: Free.

  192. Registry Toolkit (shareware)
  193. ============================
  194.  
  195. Registry Toolkit lets you search &/or replace and edit the Windows
  196. 95/98/ME NT/2000 registry.  You can specify the data types to
  197. process, start key, case sensitive, whole word.  Regular
  198. expression operations using an egrep-type syntax are also
  199. available.  You can create/edit keys, values, &/or data manually
  200. if you wish.  A unique 'operations' function lets you
  201. move/copy/delete/export values you select.  For example, you can
  202. copy/move keys from one location in the registry to another.  The
  203. program now maintains multiple 'undo' files that can be used to
  204. reverse previous changes (10 is the default).  An automatic 'last
  205. change' undo is available from the program GUI.  Replaces can be
  206. previewed in advance, in-context.  Replaces can also be previewed
  207. in the context of an overall search - a comparison dialog then
  208. lets you select/deselect specific operations to perform before
  209. making the overall replace.  The program can print search &
  210. registry browse results.  The .reg import function allows you to
  211. compare existing data vs data to be imported - specific items can
  212. then be selected/deselected.  The .reg export function can be used
  213. to make special .reg files that delete keys when merged via
  214. Registry Toolkit or our new RTMerge program (see our web site).
  215. The various program comparison dialogs are configurable and their
  216. contents can be copied to the windows clipboard.  The program can
  217. read DOS environment variables and use them in a search/replace.
  218. Script file & command line functions are available for automated
  219. &/or complex operations.  Registry Toolkit will operate on a
  220. remote registry (if you have permission to do so).  A german

  225. RTMerge (shareware/freeware)

  228. Registry Merge is a command line utility that merges .reg files
  229. into the Windows 95/98/ME NT/2000 registry. While this can be
  230. accomplished using regedit.exe, RTMerge has two added features: 
  231. 1) The program can serve as a 'stub file' to automatically apply a
  232. .reg as an .exe. The .exe is prepared in advance. End users can
  233. then apply the .reg simply by clicking on the .exe. 
  234. 2) The program can apply .reg files that delete keys. This is
  235. something not easily accomplished via regedit. See the program
  236. readme.txt for usage instructions.

  241. Folder Synchronize (shareware)
  242. ==============================

  244. Folder Synchronize is a command-line utility useful to network
  245. administrators and other power users.  It provides a subset of the
  246. functions in our Directory Toolkit utility, namely, the comparison &
  247. synchronize functions.  We created Folder Synchronize for those who
  248. needed those functions but not the GUI interface & other functions
  249. of Directory Toolkit such as archive management, file operations,
  250. etc. Folder Synchronize is a native 32-bit executable for use with
  251. Windows 95/98/ME NT/2000.
  252.  
  253. Folder Synchronize can synchronize two paths using one of 6 synch
  254. methods. The program can also do a comparison-only. This is useful
  255. with the output report function. When the output report is enabled
  256. it will contain a summary of the path comparison &/or a summary of
  257. the file operations carried out by the synchronize. Other features
  258. include: Switchable display (or not) of a progress meter; A custom
  259. bitmap & message of your choice can be displayed on the screen while
  260. an operation progresses; A 'No Cancel' switch can be used to make it
  261. less easy for a procedure to be interrupted; Require (or not)
  262. confirmation of file operations; Complex include/exclude file masks
  263. that let you include/exclude some file or subdirectores while
  264. including others; Multiple operations can be submitted to the
  265. program via multiple 'configuration files'. Cost: $25

  269. Folder Synchronize Script Editor (currently freeware)

  272. The 'Script Editor' is used to generate (or edit) script files
  273. that can then be used with Folder Synchronize or our Directory
  274. Toolkit utility. The script switches are presented in an organized
  275. arrangement. The display of related switches can be
  276. collapsed/expanded for readability.

  280. File Merge Express (shareware)
  281. ==============================

  283. File Merge Express is a file comparison and merge utility for
  284. Windows 95/98/ME NT/2000. The program displays a contents
  285. comparison of two files and can (optionally) create a third file
  286. consisting of the merge of the two files being compared. That
  287. third file can (optionally) be opened in the built-in text (or
  288. binary) editor. Multiple configurations choices are available for
  289. the file contents comparison and the merge file contents
  290. including: difference prefixes, display colors, whether or not to
  291. include common sections, etc. Command line switch and a script
  292. syntax are available for your automated routines. The program also
  293. includes a Windows Explorer extension that allows you to launch a
  294. comparison from Windows Explorer. Cost: $25

  298. Application Mover (shareware)
  299. =============================
  300.  
  301. Application Mover is a tool that relocates installed programs from
  302. one path to another on your hard disk. Application Mover takes
  303. files found in the path you specify and moves them to a new path
  304. that you specify. Application Mover scans the windows registry for
  305. references to files located in the 'Current' field and changes
  306. those references to the New path. Application Mover also scans all
  307. windows shortcuts in the Start Menu and adjusts path references to
  308. the new program location. Finally, *.ini and Install.log files
  309. present in the original program path are checked for strings
  310. matching the old path location. If found, these strings are
  311. changed to the new location. Confirmation dialogs are available.
  312. If a file is 'busy' and cannot be changed to the new location, a
  313. reboot prompt is offered. Pending changes are then completed after
  314. the reboot. Cost: $15

  319. Shortcut Doctor (shareware)
  320. ===========================

  322. Shortcut Doctor allows you to check your Win 95/98/ME NT/2000
  323. links/shortcuts and see which contain targets which can no longer be
  324. found. The program can then delete the shortcuts, resolve them, or
  325. carry out search/replace operations to modify shortcut fields with
  326. or without validation of new paths. Network Drive mappings can be
  327. inserted in the Replace dialog automatically. Individual shortcuts
  328. can be edited and all shortcuts on a drive can be displayed,
  329. regardless of whether they are valid or not. Explorer Internet URLS
  330. can also be checked for problems. CD-ROM drives, network drives, and
  331. specific paths can be ignored during processing. Includes an Empty
  332. Recent Documents button. Script files, run from the command line,
  333. allow you to do multiple operations, control program options, and
  334. easily specify complex paths. A german interface is available.

  342. Funduc Explorer Extensions is a collection of enhancements for the
  343. Windows 95/98/ME NT/2000 Explorer right-click context menu: a) Encode
  344. and Decode Email attachments - support for UUENCODE, Base64(Mime),
  345. BinHex(Mac), XXENCODE, quoted-printable, 7 bit unencoded, & plain
  346. text, b) Split and Concatenate large files into smaller ones for
  347. storage on floppies & visa versa. Split can be based on file size or
  348. a string found in a file, c) Touch files - change the time, date, &
  349. attributes of files. Touch can add (or subtract) a user specified
  350. time value from the current file time. d) File Operations -
  351. copy/move/rename/delete files using complex file masks. The program
  352. can also change case of file names & number files. A german version
  353. is also available. Cost: $15.

  357. Drive Bar (shareware)
  358. =====================

  360. Drive Bar allows you to conveniently open views of your drives in
  361. Windows Explorer. Drive Bar's Auto Hide function allows it to
  362. disappear from view when not in use so that it does not take up
  363. screen space when not in use. You can resize Drive Bar and have it
  364. remain visible at all times if you like. You can also specify a File
  365. Manager program to use instead of Windows Explorer, launch drive
  366. views as "Tiled" or not, not include specified drives in the list of
  367. drive icons, and have Drive Bar run automatically at Windows startup
  368. (see Options). Cost: $10.

  372. Sort and Slice (shareware)
  373. ==========================
  374.  
  375. Sort and Slice allows easy sorting and/or reformatting of Column
  376. Delimited files via a wizard. The program can skip header lines,
  377. use regular expression search/replace modify data, remove repeat
  378. lines from files, pad fields & change alignment, and sort on
  379. multiple fields ascending/descending. The column delimiter can be
  380. specified. The columns to be output can be changed &/or reordered.
  381. Sorts are constructed via a step-by-step interface that allows the
  382. user to determine (and modify) processing parameters. Unlike
  383. command line sort utilities, confusing command line instructions
  384. are not needed. The program includes a script function & can be
  385. launched from the command line for frequent &/or automated
  386. operations. Cost: $25.

  390. Delivery Agent (shareware)
  391. ==========================
  392.  
  393. Delivery Agent is a send-only e-mail program, with mail merge
  394. functions, for use by web site managers, network administrators,
  395. customer relations and support personnel, etc.  The program is
  396. used to deliver frequently used, customer-requested e-mail
  397. messages (& MIME attachments) such as newsletters, product
  398. delivery & announcements, support notes, etc.  Messages can be
  399. sent to one or more users by selecting a message from a list and
  400. entering the users' address.  The program can read a text file
  401. containing a list of addresses for bulk delivery.  Recipients of
  402. bulk deliveries are shielded from seeing the other recipients in
  403. the list.  The program checks a POP e-mail account prior to
  404. sending message via SMTP - useful for servers that 'validate' the
  405. users current IP address prior to mail relays.  Version 3.0 adds
  406. MAPI support.  When activated, the program will route outgoing
  407. messages to your primary MAPI-aware e-mail program.  Mail merge
  408. field name definitions, variable names, and data are stored in a
  409. single file containing the data and e-mail addresses.  Variable
  410. names can be anything you like (except for the name of the e-mail
  411. address field). Mail Merge 'Constants' can also be defined.  The
  412. program has a customizable header function that can be used to
  413. send web mail' or 'HTML mail'.  The "To: " field can also be
  414. customized for bulk, non- mail merge deliveries.  Port settings to
  415. use and maximum number of recipients per block can be configured
  416. manually.  Settings and messages can be created via the program
  417. GUI or, once you are familiar with the program, via an external
  418. text editor.  A full complement of command line switches allows
  419. the program to be incorporated into your .bat routines.  A log
  420. file of deliveries can be enabled (or not).  Cost: $25.

  424. Update Toolkit (shareware)
  425. ==========================

  427. Update Toolkit is command line utility that provides 4 
  428. functions within a single application:
  429. - Moving/copying files
  430. - Changing and checking Windows shortcuts
  431. - Searching and changing the Windows Registry
  432. - Searching and changing text files
  433.  
  434. Update Toolkit is oriented towards administrators who need to
  435. perform these operations on multiple workstations. The program is
  436. launched with a single command line. Because no graphical user
  437. interface is involved, no special steps are required to disable a
  438. program GUI when routines are run on individual workstations.
  439. Progress meters and confirmations are available if you like but
  440. these can be easily disabled. Unlike some other 'program mover'
  441. type applications that give little control over the steps to be
  442. taken, Update Toolkit allows you to specify all aspects of
  443. operation. Furthermore, you can use any combination of the areas
  444. of functioning. For example, you can use the file
  445. copy/more/compare functions and not the other three. Or you can
  446. modify shortcuts and examine the registry but do nothing with the
  447. file or text search/replace functions.

  451. Patch Creator (shareware)
  452. =========================
  453.  
  454. Created for software authors, this is a two part program that is
  455. used to make patches for updating registered versions software.
  456. Both the Patch Creator (used on the developer's end) and the Patch
  457. Applicator (which is what applies the patch on the end user's
  458. machine) are easy to use GUI programs. Command line switches or
  459. complicated run instructions are not necessary on the user's end.
  460. The creator is a Win 95/98/ME NT/2000 utility. It can create
  461. either 16 or 32 bit patches that are self-contained in a single
  462. GUI .EXE. You can require passwords to run the Applicator (or
  463. not). Patches can be created to update files on users' machines
  464. from a specific version, add files regardless of existing version,
  465. remove files, or rename files. Patches that conduct 'updates' are
  466. based on binary differences between old vs. new files. Compression
  467. can be used to further reduce the size of the patch. Patches for
  468. multiple versions can be include in a single patch file. Patches
  469. can be configured to use a registry value on the end user's
  470. machine for setup path information and the applicator can also
  471. write a .reg file to the user's registry upon completion. In
  472. addition, patches can be set up to halt operations if specified
  473. files(s) are not found on the end user's machine. This can be
  474. used, for example, to not patch any files if a critical file you
  475. specify is not present. The Patch Creator has a script language
  476. for saving complex patch setups and it can be run from the command
  477. line for use in automated routines. A German version is also
  478. available. Cost: $75.

  482. Decode/Encode DLLs (shareware)
  483. ==============================

  485. Also a tool for software developers, the Decode/Encode DLLs can be
  486. called from any Windows programming language (such as VB, Visual
  487. C, Powerbuilder, etc.). It allows you to automatically detect if a
  488. given file is UUENCODED, Base64(MIME), XXENCODED, BinHex, encoded
  489. with a user-supplied table, quoted-printable, or plain text. The
  490. DLL can then decode the file(s) either in the current directory or
  491. in one specified by the user. Binary files can also be encoded for
  492. transmission over the Internet. Functions for are available for
  493. encoding/decoding to/from memory buffers. Example code and a model
  494. test program is included. Cost: $58 (no royalties).

  498. HexView for Windows 95/NT (freeware)
  499. ====================================

  501. HexView allows you to view, print, print preview of any file as a
  502. Hex Dump. HexView is intended as a free companion program to our
  503. utility, Search and Replace. However, it is a standalone application
  504. and you are free to use it as you see fit.  The source code (C++
  505. using MFC 4.x or higher) can be downloaded for free from
  506. http://www.funduc.com. A Japanese version is available.

  510. INI to Registry (freeware)
  511. ==========================
  512.  
  513. This program works well with any program that relies on .ini
  514. files. It can read the contents of any INI file and load them into
  515. the Windows 95/98/ME NT/2000 registry.  That way programs which
  516. previously used INI files can read the old data from the registry.
  517. The program is free. The source code is available for $25. Please

  523. DBComp (Freeware)
  524. ==================
  525.  
  526. DBComp is a database comparison and merge application. The program
  527. performs two basic tasks: 1) The Compare Data Sources function
  528. compare two OBDC data sources for alike vs. different records and
  529. generate a Difference File that lists the records that either do
  530. not match or have been added/deleted from one data source compared
  531. to the other. 2) The Merge function examines a Difference File
  532. generated by DBComp and updates the specified data source via SQL
  533. statements. You can view the SQL statements in advance and remove
  534. one (or more) in advance if you wish. DBComp can be used to update
  535. remote data sources when it is impractical or inefficient to
  536. distribute an entire copy of the database to the remote location.
  537. The program can also be used to examine a data source against an
  538. archived (older) copy for the purposes of debugging or historical
  539. examination. Cost: Free

  546. This very popular freeware app is an extension for the Windows
  547. 95/98/ME NT/2000 Explorer. The program allows you to decode
  548. Internet email attachments by right-clicking on a saved message
  549. file from Explorer and selecting Decode from the menu. The program
  550. supports multiple attachments, multi-part files (already
  551. concatenated), UUENCODED, Base64(MIME), BinHex (Mac format),
  552. quoted-printable, XXENCODED, plain text files, and User (table)
  553. encoded files. If the attachment contains only one file, Decode
  554. Shell Extension will offer to open it using either the associated
  555. program or Notepad. For virus safety reasons, it will not offer to
  556. launch .exe., .com, .bat, & .cmd files. You should scan decoded
  557. Word and Excel files with your anti-virus checker before loading

  599. TZAdjust, which stands for Time Zone Adjust, is a freeware app we
  600. created for users who find it necessary to make manual changes to
  601. the time zone and 'day light savings' offset parameters for their
  602. Windows 95/98/ME NT/2000 computers. TZAdjust is probably of greatest
  603. interest to Windows NT/2000 users. NT/2000 returns time information
  604. as an offset from Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). In addition, the OS
  605. automatically makes Daylight Savings compensations when reporting
  606. file times. One can disable "Automatically Adjust for Daylight
  607. Savings" entirely in the Windows Day/Time Properties dialog but
  608. there may be other instances where finer control over time zone and
  609. the daylight offset is desired. Do not use TZAdjust casually. Be
  610. sure to read the information in the 'readme.txt' before using this
  611. program. Cost: Free.

  618. This little app was written to: a) Allow users to dump the
  619. contents of combo, edit and list boxes as well as static and
  620. button fields to the clipboard.  This can come in handy for
  621. browser lists, as well as items displayed by other applications to
  622. which you otherwise have no access.  b) To help users understand
  623. how applications are built (what types of controls are used).
  624. Other tools are available for this of course but they are usually
  625. known only to programmers.  c) To allow users to know at any time
  626. how many characters they have typed in an edit box.  This might be
  627. useful, for example, if a site asks you to only enter a certain
  628. amount of data in their fields but don't tell you that you went
  629. over until it's too late. Depending on the editor, html authors
  630. might also find this handy for double checking the length of meta
  631. tags. The contents of password edit fields can be displayed in
  632. readable form - useful for if you forgot a password you just
  633. created. Separate Win3x & Win 95/98/ME NT/2000 versions included.

  642. controls by letting you set your own maximum size settings for the
  643. amount of text permitted in edit boxes and rich edit controls.  For
  644. example, you could use Limit Edit to set a limit on the amount of
  645. text allowed in an instance of the Notepad text editor. Separate
