Shuffle is a game which makes a puzzle with rectangular pieces out of
a picture file, and lets you put the picture back together. It can
read NEOchrome, DEGAS (uncompressed), Spectrum and Doodle (an old
format for the Commodore 64) format pictures.
To run Shuffle, get your favorite picture ready, put SHUFFLE.PRG and
SHUFFLE.RSC in the same folder and double-click on SHUFFLE.PRG. The
program will give you an introductory screen and then give you a file
selector, to select the picture you want to cut up. Select it, and
Shuffle will load the picture. You must then select the size pieces
you want, by selecting the number of rows and columns of pieces you
want the picture to be cut into. If you want to view the picture
before you cut it up, use the button labelled "See Pic". Once you
press OK, you're in the main puzzle screen.
You can move pieces around by dragging them. If you want to move a
block of pieces, hold down the shift key and use the left mouse button
to select a "rubber-band" around the pieces you want to move, then
move them. At any time, you can view the original picture by pressing
the right mouse-button. Press it again to go back to the puzzle.
When you've put the puzzle back together correctly, Shuffle will tell
you with an alert box, and you'll go back to the main puzzle screen.
To exit at this or any point and puzzle over a different picture,
press <Return>. To exit and re-cut the current picture, press
<Space>.
Shuffle does not work with corner clocks, because they mess up the
picture as you're puzzling over it, causing Shuffle to never
recognize that you've successfully completed the puzzle. Mclock,
which I wrote, is a prime example of this. Therefore, you should
disable all corner clocks before you run Shuffle.
Shuffle requires the LynxLib library to compile, available from the
author.
Shuffle falls under the Lynxware general license, included with this
distribution.
