  4. Greetings: perhaps you are wondering how to reach an actual human being
  5. who can attempt to help you. Well by golly, you're in luck,this
  6. is your Friendly Computer Operator Help File! By calling 543-9275 or
  7. sending a message to terminals Opr, 30, or 573 you can reach a genuine Computer
  8. Operator. These finely trained and intelligent individuals will either
  9. assist you with your problem, tell you a funny story, or refer you to the
  10. proper person at the Locke.

  12. To send to one of us, simply type in "send opr txt txt" (dont use the
  13. quote marks of course) and you will get a prompt (or reasonably prompt)
  14. response. Calling 543-9275 and asking for an operator is usually quicker,
  15. and preferable if the problem is complex (our fingers get pretty tired
  16. when answering long questions by SEND)
  17.  
  18. During the day (from 8am to 5pm), the Operators are Larry (tty 573) and Jim
  19. (tty 30).  During the evening there are various student operators till 10 pm
  20. weekedays and from 8am to 6pm weekends.
