[HELP LINED 1 page]
[LINED is a very obsolete editor. It will make mistakes and cause you
to lose your information occasionally. See HELP SOS for a similar
but good editor which is just as easy to use. The only reason LINED is
still around is that one user uses it and has its use documented in a manual
for a number of people. As soon as we can convince them to switch, then ZAP!]
"LINED" LINE-EDITOR COMMAND SUMMARY
THE "CREATE" COMMAND CALLS LINED AND OPENS A NEW FILE
FOR EDITING. THE COMMAND IS OF THE FORM:
.CREATE file.ext
THE "EDIT" COMMAND CALLS LINED AND OPENS AN EXISTING FILE
FOR EDITING. THE COMMAND IS OF THE FORM:
.EDIT file.ext
LINED RESPONDS WITH AN ASTERISK, TO WHICH THE FOLLOWING
COMMANDS MAY BE TYPED.
*Innnn INSERT OR REPLACE THE LINE nnnn
nnnn CAN BE A NUMBER, OR A POINT (.)FOR LAST LINE EDITED
IF nnnn IS OMITTED, IT IS ASSUMED TO BE 10
*Innnn,iiii INSERT WITH nnnn INCREMENTED BY iiii
TYPE ESCAPE(OR ALTMODE) WHEN FINISHED INSERTING, TO RETURN TO LINED
COMMAND MODE.
*Dnnnn DELETE LINE NUMBER nnnn
nnnn CAN BE A NUMBER, OR A POINT(.)FOR LAST LINE EDITED
