  74.      Telemate Extended Edition is available to registered users only.  Both
  75.      EMS 3.2 and 4.0 driver is supported. Up to 8M bytes of expanded memory

  79.         conventional memory.

  81.       . phone directory - each 125 entries will occupy 16K bytes so that

  112.      The Window Borders

  114.      In Telemate the window  borders are mouse  sensitive. Click the  main
  115.      mouse key on the window edges makes things happen!

  125.      The Scroll Bar
  126.  
  127.      When the scroll bar  option is turned on  the active window (the  one
  128.      most recently opened)  will have  an enlarged right  side and  bottom
  129.      borders . These borders are the window's scroll bars.
  130.  
  131.      To scroll vertically with the mouse, point at "scroll box" (the  dark
  132.      box on right side scroll bar)  and while holding down the left  mouse
  133.      button drag it to  a position in the  scroll bar that corresponds  to
  134.      the general location in the file to which you wish to go. For example
  135.      if you wish to go to a point approximately halfway through your file,
  136.      drag the  dark  box halfway  to  the bottom  of  the scroll  bar  and
  137.      release. The same  process can be  used to scroll  horizontally in  a
  138.      file using the dark box on the bottom scroll bar.

  140.      To scroll one line or one character at a time, click on the arrows at
  141.      either end of the scroll bars. To scroll one page at a time, click on
  142.      the region between the scroll box and the arrows at end of the scroll
  143.      bar.

  173.      the top of the Dial window to be dialed.  Click  on  multiple entries

  176.      connection is  made,  proceed  to the next number.  As  with  all the
  177.      windows you can  resize and move  the Dial  window  using  the window

  222.      Telemate allows you to mark and copy text while in the Edit, View and
  223.      Back windows. Marked text  is copied to a  clip buffer or  clipboard.
  224.      Once the text is  copied to the clip  buffer the terminal window  can
  225.      handle it in either of two ways:

  227.      Pasting [Alt P]
  228.  
  229.      Pasting text sends the marked text  to the remote system.

  231.      Quoting [Alt Q]

  233.      [Alt Q] functions much the same as  [Alt P]. [Alt Q] is designed  for
  234.      quoting text into BBS message areas  and three characters " > "  will
  235.      be added to each line.  Mark the text as above  and Copy to the  clip
  236.      buffer. To insert into  a BBS message position  the cursor where  you
  237.      want the text to go and hit [Alt Q].

  368.      the Option menu.

  388.      you for the name of the file.  Type in the correct DOS file and  path
  389.      name, press  [Enter] and  the  marked text  will  be written  to  the
  390.      designated file.

  401.       -----
  402.  
  403.      In addition to accepting  standard alpha-numeric text, Telemate  also
  404.      uses certain   symbols  which  when passed  through the  phone  lines
  405.      perform specific  functions. For  example, the  character "^M"  in  a
  406.      macro translates as  [Enter] on the  other end. Below  is a table  of
  407.      symbols you can incorporate in your macros:

  422.      For example, if your macro includes  the symbol '^[' Telemate will
  423.      send the [Esc] key sequence through the phone line to the remote
  424.      system.

  426.      If  the  symbol '^#' is  included  in  the  modem  hangup  string,
  427.      Telemate will drop the DTR to hang up.  And the macro "^\HOST" will
  428.      run the script file HOST.SCR in the script directory.

  430.      The symbol '^=' will execute the followed command.

  447.       (with another '^=')  prompt you for the filename

  450.       Options
  451.       -------
  452.  
  453.      The Options Menu  allows you  to setup  Telemate to  work the way you
  454.      want it to.   When you select an area to  setup you  will see  one of
  455.      of Options Dialog.
  456.  
  457.      There are 3  types of  choices you will  face in  the Options  Dialog
  458.      area. Pressing the [Tab], [Shift Tab]  or using the Arrow keys  moves
  459.      you from choice to choice.
  460.  
  461.      Circular Buttons: Circular  buttons refer  to black  dots inside  the
  462.      parenthesis ( ) that  you   see in  the  Mouse  selection box.  Press
  463.      [Spacebar] and the  button will  jump from box  to box  and only  one
  464.      option in each group can be selected.
  465.  
  466.      Check Boxes: Some options  are simple yes or  no type choices.  These
  467.      appear as a pair of  brackets: [ ]. Press the  [Spacebar] and  an   X
  468.      appears in the brackets:  [X] which means "yes,  I want this  feature
  469.      turned on". An empty bracket means "No."
  470.  
  471.      Text Boxes: There are some options which require you to type in  your
  472.      choice. For example to change the  Edit window's margin, tab to  that
  473.      choice and type in the number  you desire to use as the right margin.
  474.      Moreover, you  can Copy [Alt C] the content of the text boxes  to the
  475.      clipboard or Paste [Alt P] content of the clipboard to the text boxes.

  477.      Pressing the [Esc] key will cancel the dialog and all options will be
  478.      remain unchanged.
