This is of interest to skeptics in its own right, but the psychological and social processes involved in FMS also cast light upon UFO abduction or satanic ritual abuse reports. The FMS Foundation is an advocacy group, so the information it presents plays down ambiguities, but this advocacy is successful in highlighting the disturbing consequences of certain unscientific beliefs.
