  1. AUTHOR:Patrick Grim, ed.
  2. CATEGORY:skepticism
  3. COMMENT:Introduces the philosophy of science by examining the problem of pseudoscience, discussing particular "occult" beliefs. It presents arguments both pro and con, with more of a philosophical emphasis. Useful antidote to ritualistic invocations of "scientific method" and "falsifiability" that skeptics sometimes engage in, as it shows something of the complexity of the issues. Still, the conceptual criticisms of paranormal beliefs it includes tend to be strong, and worth knowing about.
