  2. CATEGORY:general
  3. COMMENT:Examples of how changes in court procedures have allowed "junk" science (pseudoscience) into court evidence. Case histories include the class action suit against the manufacturer of Bendectin, an anti-nausea drug prescribed for morning sickness. The author argues that the premise behind these suits leads to increased cost to consumers, and reduced services (lack of any prescribed drugs for morning sickness in the US). Suggestions for changes to proceedings are suggested (which recent court rulings seem to disagree with).
