COMMENT:A collection of essays, mainly in criticism of parapsychology, Uri Geller and the likes, with interesting tidbits like a discussion of Lull's Ars Magna thrown in. It includes replies to Gardner and his counter-replies, but no index. Much of its content is distinguished by an acid tone; Gardner uses harsh judgments and sarcasm as a way to deal with "extreme eccentricities of science." It succeeds in bringing out some of the interesting personalities in the paranormal, if through a cloud of acrimony.
