  1. This is a list of applications I've established through inspection to 
  2. be proprietary, so as to avoid wasting time examining them again.

  4. Remember:  Availability of source code alone does not make a codebase
  5. open source.  Open source requires rights of usage, modification, and
  6. redistribution detailed in the Open Source Definition, 
  7. http://www.opensource.org/docs/definition_plain.html .

  9. This list does not distinguish between "shareware", "freeware", etc. among 
  10. proprietary applications, nor furnish any other information on them:  It 
  11. aims only to list proprietary packages' names so that those seeking 
  12. open-source code need not waste time examining these packages' licence status.
  13. (Note that there _may_ be open-source packages sharing these names.)
