  1. Let's not forget to say "open-source" instead of "free".  The English 
  2. word "free" has too many meanings, and has historically proven one of 
  3. Linux's biggest stumbling blocks for general audiences.

  5. Being amusing and entertaining will go a long way.  Baiting proponents
  6. of legacy operating systems (read Don Marti's "Linuxmanship" article
  7. at http://electriclichen.com/people/dmarti/linuxmanship.html -- highly
  8. recommended) is amusing up to but _not_ including the point where
  9. it devolves to affirmations of OS-religion.  Be aware that at least
  10. one dedicated flamer and Microsoft groupie is a regular Robert Austin
  11. show attendee.

  13. Consider referring to other OSes as "legacy" systems, per "Linuxmanship",
  14. and reserve the term "upgrade" for installing Linux or changing versions
  15. of Linux.
