  5. 1. CalLUG revived, 
  6. but then lasted only through 2007: A/o 2008, their machine still 
  7. <a href="http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~linux/">exists</a>, but 
  8. seems to have been wiped.  A new group, Cocoaheads, has taken the place of 
  9. Bay Area NeXT Group.  Smaug has revived, and 
  10. is holding weekly(!) meetings -- and Stanford University LUG (SULUG) has 
  11. resumed monthly meetings.  SlugLUG was revived by an enterprising
  12. student, but then went dormant again, and EBLUG recovered from accidental 
  13. domain expiration and has recently sidestepped recurring security compromise
  14. by moving most of its presence to ning.com.  BayPIGgies ceased alternating 
  15. meeting sites, settling on 
  16. Mountain View.  There's a new LUG in San Francisco, named SF-LUG.  
  17. SJSU LUG evaporated in 2007 when its domain expired and was grabbed 
  18. by a squatter.
  19. <p>2. SCLUG's wiki site at linus.got.net was wiped out by comment spam
  20. in 2005, and the 
  21. <a href="http://sphinx.got.net/mailman/listinfo/sclug">mailing list</a>
  22. finally vanished in 2006.  Exit SCLUG.
  23. <p>3.  Internet Developer Group was said to be merely dormant (because
  24. its founder suffered burnout), but the announcement mailing list is 
  25. defunct, though the <a href="http://www.inetdevgrp.org/">Web site</a>
  26. persists.
  27. <a href="http://www.linuxmovies.org/">Linux Movies Group</a> has gone 
  28. dormant in the S.F. region, as has 
  29. <a href="http://www.extasia.org/sig-beer-west/">sig-beer-west</a>.
  30. <p>4. Starship Augusta Ada has changed meeting days from 4th Saturdays
  31. to 3rd Sundays.
  32. <p>5. FreeBSD group SVBUG remains dormant:  Leader Jesse Monroy hasn't
  33. called new meetings.
  34. On the other hand, BAFUG is being revived, and its mailing 
  35. lists are functioning (although their Web archives are broken).  You'll 
  36. need to exempt domain "bafug.org" from SMTP callback checks, if you do
  37. them.
