  19.          1.0 - IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER

  22.               It has recently come  to  our  attention  that  somebody  has
  23.          created  a  program  called  VDIR  which  appears  to  be  a  dir-
  24.          ectory-scrunging, tape-worm program that does a lot of damage to a
  25.          disk's directories, especially to hard disks. There appears to  be
  26.          no  way, short of turning the machine off, to stop it once it gets
  27.          going or anyway to correct the damage.

  30.               This is a disclaimer against  VDIR.  Our  product  will  work
  31.          within  the   description  above and IS NOT RELATED TO NOR DOES IT
  32.          PERFORM ANY OF THE DESTRUCTIVE FEATURES OF THIS OTHER PROGRAM.  We
  33.          are quite upset and discouraged at people who  create  such   pro-
  34.          grams  and  we have the dung-covered wooden spikes, a truckload of
  35.          red army ants, and forty gallons of honey ready for  use  when  we
  36.          find these kind of people!

  39.               Public   Domain   software  should  be  used  to  help  users
  40.          (especially Rainbow users), not hurt them. It's   an  old  cliche,
  41.          but appropriate: Caveat Emptor!

  123.               Many  of  the  available packages noted in Section 2.1 can be
  124.          found on many FidoNET Bulletin Boards.  "The  Hitchhiker's  Guide"
  125.          Fido   node  (1-315-589-7361)  maintains  current  copies  of  all
  126.          available packages.  If you cannot locate these packages,  send  a
  127.          SASE  to   the  above  address  for a current list of software and
  128.          nominal charge  for  disk  copying.   We  will  copy  any  desired
  129.          packages to disks you supply.  These disks must be formatted under
  130.          MS-DOS or CP/M-86/8 with the RX50K format.

  133.               Please  note  the  "PD"  suffix to the version number of this
  134.          program.  This denotes that  this  program  is  a  final,  working
  135.          product  now  placed  in  the "Public Domain" and not a prior test
  136.          version.  Packages released prior to 11/30/85 do not contain  this
  137.          suffix.  Refer  to  the  Copyright  and  licensing sections in the
  138.          document WDIR.DOC for further information.
