  1. TypStyl is distributed in a package containing these files:

  3. -- TS11.COM         The program itself.

  5. -- MANUAL.TS        A 19-page instruction manual. It includes
  6.                     an index and an appendix summarizing the
  7.                     commands.
  8.  
  9. -- DEMO             A text file that illustrates some of
  10.                     TypStyl's features.
  11.  
  12. -- ROMANB24.FNT     Font files used by DEMO
  13.    ROMANB18.FNT
  14.    ROMAN12.FNT
  15.    ITALB12.FNT
  16.  
  17. -- READ.1ST         This file.
  18.  
  19. I recommend printing DEMO as a supplement to the manual to
  20. get a better understanding of how TypStyl's commands and
  21. features work.  To do so, make sure TS11.COM, DEMO and the four
  22. font files are all on the default drive. Turn on your
  23. printer. Then enter:
  24.  
  25. TS11/S DEMO PRN
  26.  
  27. TypStyl should display its "set-up" screen with the "Command
  28. character" line highlighted. The command character should be
  29. a backslash -- \. If it is not, type "\". Then hit the "EXIT"
  30. and "RETURN" keys.  TypStyl should start reading DEMO
  31. automatically and sending lines to the printer as it
  32. processes them.

  34. When a word needs to be hyphenated, TypStyl will beep and
  35. display that line.  Use the left and right arrow keys to
  36. manipulate the hyphen cursor and press "RETURN" when the
  37. hyphen is where you want it.

  39. You may also want to print out a copy of DEMO using
  40.  
  41. TYPE DEMO > PRN 
  42.  
  43. so you can compare it with the version processed by TypStyl,
  44. see the codes TypStyl uses and get an idea of how they work.
