  7. TypStyl is a flexible, multi-featured printing program for
  8. the Digital LA50 and similar printers. It is in
  9. \cf3]justification \cf1] mode on 2.5 and 5.5-inch margins.\ql;ql;ql

  12. Now TypStyl is in \cf3]flush-left \cf1]mode. The right margins
  13. are ragged. The margins are changed to 1/2 inch on the left
  14. and four inches on the right. Flush-left gives a more casual

  18. The \cf3]flush-right \cf1]mode is used less frequently than
  19. justified and flush-left type, but you may want to use it to set
  20. blocks of copy that butt up against an illustration. You will

  24. TypStyl can also set ragged, centered type. If you want to center
  25. only one line -- a title, for example -- use the quad center
  26. command (QC). But there are times when a whole block of copy
  27. looks nice centered between margins. Then use command RC.\qc;al3;jf

  30. \in]TypStyl can also tabulate. Here we can see it tab at three,

  34. Indenting\qc;cf1
  35. \in]Sometimes you may want to indent the left or right margin
  36. temporarily to make room for a photograph or illustration.
  37. \ir1",12] TypStyl will let you do this with the indent-right
  38. and indent-left commands (IR and IL). In this paragraph, for
  39. example, the right margin is being indented by one inch for
  40. a depth of one inch. IR and IL are the commands to use when
  41. indenting for \cf3]layout \cf1] purposes. If you want to
  42. narrow the text to set off quotations or similar material,
  43. it's best to reset the margins using the MS command.\ql;al3;cf4

  46. \in]You may also want to create tables with flush-left and
  47. flush-right materials, perhaps using dot leaders. Do so in
  48. justification mode using these commands:\ql;ql

  53. Note that either the quad left of the quad middle command is
  54. used to end each line in dot-leader or split-line mode.\ql;ep
  55. Also note that, in justification mode, you must end the last
  56. line of each paragraph with a QL or an EP command to make the
  57. line come out flush-left.\ql;ql;cf4

  59. New features\qc;cf1;in;ls
  60. Version 1.1 of TypStyl allows literal spacing.  That means 
  61. you can leave two spaces between sentences and have them 
  62. print that way.  TypStyl also now lets you string together 
  63. hyphens to form dashes like -- or --- or ---.\ql;ds;ep
  64.  
  65. TypStyl now has a double-strike mode, which allows the printer 
  66. to print lines twice, as it is doing now. On disk output files, 
  67. this uses twice as many characters.\ql;xd;ep
  68.  
  69. For this file to work properly, TypStyl should be set up to use
  70. the backslash (\\) as the command character.  If you want the
  71. backslash to print, just type it twice.\ql
