  1. In this directory, and different subdirectories are programs
  2. related to the DEC pdp11.
  3. This area will probably get more organized sometime in the future.

  6. doc contains different documentation. Some of it has been snatched
  7. from usenet news, other stuff has been sent to me.

  9. emulators contains different emulators that emulate the pdp11
  10. for different other hardware.

  12. pos is a pointer to the professional directory, since this machine
  13. normally runs P/OS. (I know there are other stuff as well...)

  15. rsts contains stuff specific for RSTS/E.
  16. rsx contains stuff specific for RSX-11.
  17. rt contains stuff specific for RT-11.
  18. xinu contains stuff for the xinu operating system.

  20. k11mit.tar.Z is the k11 files from watsun.cc.columbia.edu

  22. pdp-gcc.shar is a pdp-11 backend to gcc. It was copied from
  23. mike@vlsivie.tuwien.ac.at (Michael Gschwind). Maybe he can
  24. give answers to questions. I can't.

  26. decusc.tar.Z was sent to me from Mike Young. I think it has some
  27. fixes not in the official distribution from DECUS, but you would
  28. be better off asking Mike yourself. Also, he has DECUS-C available
  29. by ftp himself, and that copy is at least as good as this one
  30. (probably better).

  32. teco11.tar.Z is teco-11 V39. Some of the stuff is definitely for VMS,
  33. but it seems to be meant for all different pdp-11 OSes as well.
  34. I'm not sure this is a complete distr.

  37. The setup isn't 100% strict. Some DECUS software that has been distributed
  38. for one OS really works on others as well, but are still placed only in
  39. one directory, so browsing around can pay off.
