  9. All the bugs which were reported to me have been fixed.
  10. Besides the new SoftSpan executable, note some changes in the 'modem'
  11. configuration file:
  12.  
  13. The SET string is different.  In particular, the ATZ reset has been
  14. eliminated.  Keep it that way. If you are using the internal serial port,
  15. register S2 is set to 255 to disable the '+++' escape code.  Instead,
  16. make sure that DTR_HANGUP is selected.
  17.  
  18. The computer will access the serial port directly and drop the DTR line
  19. when it wants to hang up.  If you don't understand this, just make sure that
  20. your modem is set to respond to a drop in the DTR line.
  21.  
  22. If you're not using the internal serial port, remove the DTR_HANGUP line
  23. and use the alternate SET string provided.

  27. STARTCREDIT can now be set independently for each standard access level.
  28.  
  29. In the Usered utility, you can now disable individual access bits without
  30. clearing everything out.

  32. The X-Modem 1K file transfer protocol has been added.

  43. I am now working on what will become version 2.0 of the SoftSpan BBS system.

  53. Full screen ANSI based message editor.

  59. More sysop utilities

  63. Completely rewritten documentation

  65. User-friendly installation/configuration program

  67. An interface to the public domain UUCP for the Amiga, so that you can set
  68. up SoftSpan as a Usenet node.

  71. Unfortunately, SoftSpan 2.0 will probably NOT be Shareware or public domain,
  72. although I may release a demo version as such.

  74. All registered users of SoftSpan will get a discounted upgrade price.
  75. In addition, I will consider registered users first to be test sites when 
  76. a pre-release version is available.
